Hey peeps!

Been a long time since I've posted on here. . .due to many reasons - personal and work.

Work has been hectic since I came back from my trip to naija - first week back was nuts, dealing with two week old requests and trying to remember people's names. Felt like I had wiped my brain clean when I went on holiday.  Grin

As if that wasn't bad enough, I had to leave for two back to back 5 day training courses. Enjoyment you say? I wish - courses were long and intense, and I had to write exams everyday with a two hour long one at the end. Honestly I thought I left this kain wahala in school oh!

Back to work now, and my seat has been moved to probably the worst one in the entire wing - right in front of the door so as people come in they can look over my shoulder and peep at my computer. With that, no more nairaland at work, except maybe briefly on break cos I no want people sticking their nose in my business!

Right now it's about that time of year again to get the books checked on emissions trading. The big guys in HQ want to sell credits so they can cash in, but the guys below want to keep the credits for now so they can sell next year and get some cash then that wasn't in the budget. Of course I'm supporting my in house guys so I've made sure the forecast has a good buffer to justify them not selling.  Grin

External auditors will be around in two weeks and I'm trying to get people to clean up their acts - everybody is forming 'busy' but when the auditor comes now body go dey shake anyhow. At the end of it they'll want to claim the credit if it goes well.

2/3rds of the team is either on vacation or off sick so it's me and the boss woman handling things for the next two days. . . just the worst timing after I planned to take off early tomorrow.  Sad

Oh well, weekend is almost here so I'll cope. People please let's revive this thread abeg!

Guys, i dey still dey come peep for ds thread but I no get much time again to tell stories again.

My JD has been expanded, from being the company's FIXED ASSET ACCOUNTANT, I'm now the TAX, FIXED ASSETS AND PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT, tripling my former responsibilities. Still adjusting to the new position, and already asked that a corper be hired to assist me. I'm sure when I settle down and become a master in my new roles, I will be back to my Nairaland best.

@ Jarus
There is a friends company who does nothing but fixed asset management.

They do electronic marking/tagging of your fixed asset. they are expertriate in the field. Its a matter of choice, Just give me your company name and they bring proposals down to you.

the name of the company is HAQNASS SYSTEMS NIG. LTD.

HOUSE.
Its not easy ooooo  , Close late, resume early, and  yet your boss still complaining.

Thank God tomorrow is public holiday, am very sick and tired. I will rest throughout 2morrow. We discuss better on friday.

Sup y'all.
Decided to rescue this thread from ignonimy by shooting a post.
Asides random visits to NL, I have been pretty busy since I got back from vacation. . .  and that seems like 20 years ago, frankly speaking.
Just coming up for air after a major product launch for my coy, and preparing for the seasonal promos.
But what happened to everyone, by the way?

ok, my two cents to help keep this thread alive:

we lost a unit(a generator 150MW, funnily enough it was recommissioned earlier this month) on saturday morning and all the operators are sad about it, plus i just learnt that the 6000MW that govt is making noise about is a scam that means either the ppl in govt are extremely shady or extremely dull, i'll prolly come back and clarify this when i'm no longer upset (sob sob. . .i'm also sad about the loss of the unit), anyone that's observant will notice that its only politicians and oil pple that are talking about 6000MW; no power (electricity) person is talking about it(the minister of power doesnt count; he a politician) this is what happened in bola ige's time, you start making stupid statements and er'body keeps quiet and watches you make a fool out of yourself, sigh. . . i'm freezing in this office and at this point in time i really wish NEPA cld take light so i wouldnt hv to be the one that switches off the A/C but i know that isnt going to happen. . .lol

hey diggler,
Not to worry.
Let's keep on keeping the thread alive. . .  so I came back to modify this post. Was a bit busy when I made it.

as per work, thankfully I have no major product launches for this year anymore. Just putting specs together for a tender I plan to shoot out to prospective vendors in a couple of weeks. Actually a 2010 budget item, but I wanted to at least do a preliminary assessment.

As per pp runs, I have a couple of pending briefs I need to submit this weekend. Unfortunately I will be in a neighbouring West African nation all through this weekend, so I have to 'post' the clients, and ease the pressure off myself.

I still dey like Dele o. And I still peep here, at least once in two days.

Your guy is now very busy after a recent promotion that got his deliverables tripled but a slight upping of the pay Angry . I still squeeze out of the very tight schedule to come over to NL though, but the era of long, story-some posts seems to have gone.

The new challenge requires people management, especially external parties. I now deal with external  parties a lot, especially bankers, tax authorities and other companies and suppliers. I pity these bank marketers o.  So this is how aggresive they are, almost prostrating for one just to ensure I pay the tax to their banks, and this small head assumes a kingly status. Managing these people that swarm at you could be difficult.

Jarus, all promotions triple (at least) your deliverables, but do not inch up your pay to anywhere. Even if they do, they create exit taxes to take it all away. I mean, that is what you accountants do, right?

@House,
Anyways, I am working out of a West African neighbour today. Yes, that one who many say is soon to be our nemesis in Nigeria. I say, yeah right. Obviously most peeps who write that stuff have never been here. Nigeria is a truly great nation, that's why when we balls up, we do it 'greatly' and more painfully. LOL.
Been here a few hours and I can't wait to get back home!

Morale in banks is @ an all time low as we speak.

So urs truly has cut back on most of d frivolous calls i make, chasing deals all over the country.

I spent like 2 days in the office last week like operations staff, when i realised the gold mine these mofos ware sitting on.

Can u believe the amount of hot chics that troop through the rotor doors on average in a day.

My new job description now includes helping beautiful damsels resolve those knotty banking issues.
Shit paid dividends big time over the weekend, plus dem chics are buying into my recession/Sanusi tsunami scam yans.
Told em i working on without pay cos i have a mind boggling 350m in bad loans on my books. (my region no even get am sef)
