World's Biggest Search Engine Join Forces With The Biggest Pc Manufacturer
« on: August 30, 2006, 08:40 AM »

Google and Dell have announced a deal that will see all new Dell machines shipping with pre-installed Google software. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs conference in Las Vegas, Google CEO Eric Schmidt announced the pact in which millions of Dell PCs will come pre-loaded with Google Toolbar for PC and web-based searches

The partnership sees the world's biggest search engine join forces with the biggest PC manufacturer, in a deal that's bound to shake Microsoft. Google's adopted business model relies on advertising to raise profits. Should this model prove a consumer hit, Microsoft could suffer heavily, because it relies almost solely on the sale of its software to drive revenue.

The Google-Dell collaboration comes on the same day that Yahoo! and eBay announce their long-expected deal. Under the agreement, the two companies have effectively combined their individual strengths to take on Google and Microsoft's market dominance.

True that !
Yer 'cause Microsoft could suffer heavily, if the deal becomes a hit and if it gets bigger.
Yahoo and eBay are also joining forces to take on Google and Microsoft as well
