I am a young Nigerian with a great vocal chord and a superb style of singing which is quite new. It's simply Unique! I do mostly gospel/inspirational songs, using a blend of R and B flavour with the yoruba traditional chant(oriki) . I think it is best heard than explained. But the feeling is just like listening to Craig David's song In the Yoruba traditional chant form with a chorus that has a Rock feeling. I would still maintain that it is better heard than explained!
But the issue is that I am really in need of a sponsorer or someone who can help finance the project! I already have a demo and I would be willing and ready to come along with it whenever I am called upon. Just wondering if anyone could advise me on what to do or if i could get a helping hand.

Sounds nice. Getting a sponsor that is standing right in front of you is difficult, not to mention on a board like this. Since you have a demo CD, let people hear your music, people you think can or cannot help you. Sorry i don't have references but the more people know the more your chances of finding a sponsor.

Victor Sounds very nice . Well it can be very difficult for an aspiring artist to get a sponsor. But in this age of the internet there are also a couple of things you can do for yourself to get noticed since you already have a demo. Can you post samples of your demo on this site for people to hear. Since there are a lot of nigerians visiting this site. This is a very good oppoutunity for u to get noticed and probably get a sponsor. if you are looking for a site that can host your songs go to http://www.audiostreet.net/. Register and upload all your songs. Then start an aggressive self marketing of yourself online. If you are very good and people like your songs you will get a sponsor in no time.i hope this helps . if you require any help let me know |

Yeah i was just going to say if his demo could be heard. You don't have to put up all your songs, just something for people to hear and work with or get a better grasp of your style. Getting noticed puts you on the map even if in some small way. I wish you luck with your career and look forward to hearing some of your music. Cheers

Oh, I was so impressed by the responses, and I must say that it's been great knowing this site. Thanks so much all my brothers out there! Right now, I have got to speedily get my songs on net, just two of them, at least. I am very sure the sponsorers would come, because is a brand of a new inspiration in Gospel dispensation. You guys are a huge help and inspiration. I can't wait to upload my songs right now. Please, bear with me, I am on getting them across ok. you are going to listen to it, and you find them favorite!
