Glo Link Cards: International Prepaid Call Cards from Globacom
« on: May 12, 2005, 05:04 PM »

Globacom, has just introduced international prepaid calling cards to the Nigerian market- the Glo Link Cards. The service is offered by Globacom's international gateway arm, Glo Gateway, and is meant to improve the quality of service experienced by Nigerians using international prepaid call cards.

The cards are available in four denominations of N500, N1,000 N2,000 and N5,000 with validity periods of 60, 90, 180 and 360 days respectively.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of Glo Gateway, Ashok Israni, For as low as N15 per minute, Nigerians will enjoy crystal clear voice calls to key destinations.

What do you think guys? I think small companies that are in the prepaid international calling card business are about to be wiped out i.e if they do not sit up.

I wonder if N15 is the real price because i need to know what the subscriber pays for the call between the mobile phone and the access code from which the international call is made.

Lets compliment the effort of Globacom for bringing sanity in the G.S.M industry, otherwise we do not know what MTN would be doing to Nigerians in other to exploit us more and more of our had earned money.  So with this news of global international call card, I commend their effort.

How does this compare to Starcomms at N15 per minute to the united states.?

And that rate is from both starcomms mobile and fixed phones.

If the voice quality from Glo is sufficiently clear at peak period, then folks might still pay
the difference. That cannot be said for Starcomms.
