heh heh, i have provided my own support for as long as i can remember. as far as i'm concerned, the IT peeps in my company are clueless - conficker is doing the rounds - and i eventually provided the admin running round with symantecs tool, as well as the latest microsoft malicious software removal tool.

last year one of our it guys formatted a colleagues system(their standard virus removal procedure)  without properly backing up his files and that was the end of those files
