It's pretty straight forward if you know what you are doing. You basically need a hub ( better yet a switch if you need better performance)that has enought ports to take care of your 10 systems, say a 16 port switch. You need 10 straight cat5 cables plus 20 r45 connectors. Once that bit is taken care of you assign ip addresses to all the system (make sure that they are all in the same subnet) eg
Computer 1 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 Computer 2 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 Computer 3 192.168.0.3 255.255.255.0 Computer 4 192.168.0.4 255.255.255.0 and so on. Make sure all computers have the uniques names and ip addresses or you will run into issues.
You will probably have to surf the web more to find more guides. Good luck

That's correct but i'm sure you are want to browze with all of them. 1. If if youre ISP alow you 10 sistem you just have to conect them with lan switch and cables. The settings they will give to you.
2.If they alow only one PC you can install the proxy server on youre main sistem all another with the same setings plus proxy seting in IE or the Browzer wich you use.
This is only if you use lan conection to youre ISP and want make a lan home network.

No matter the kind of connection you use, you can share 1 internet connection among 10 PCs; this is called Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). Windows 2000 & XP have this unique feature. You may not even need a Proxy Server to achieve this.
Steps: 1. On the PC that has the internet link (which will be the Server), you need a spare network card (NIC) which links you to your LAN switch. 2. Right click on your internet link and go to the Advance tab and choose "Allow other network users to share this internet connection". 3. The network card for your LAN is automatically assigned an IP address 192.168.0.1 4. Set all your other PC's IP address to automatic 5. Connect all of them to the LAN switch. 6. Click internet explorer and follow the on-screen instructions.
