Do anyone know how much it cost to ship a car from US to Nigeria?
I've tried doing that and I only got a quote back from one company with an outrageous cost of $4500 and I know for a fact that there are way cheaper ones than that. Thanks

It will cost you approximately $1500 from the NYC/PORT OF NEWARK and about $1400 from the Port of Baltimore. Where are you, i have shipped many cars to Nigeria, i can help find you a good freight forwarder. Or open the yellow pages and look for a reputable Freight Forwarder. You need the title and you will get a dock receipt and then drop the car off @ the port. Very simple. Make sure you send it RORO. You do not need a container.

depending on what you are sending, using a container might work out cheaper (gidi factor) a 3 car container will cost about $5k all in. Why cheaper, well any car left in the port, or coming in is liable to have parts removed, with 2-3 yr old or newer cars this can be very very expensive, cause they tend to steal computer parts (ECU).
So my advise is if it is a expensive car then use a container, which also ensures no physical damage as well.

It all depends on the kind of car. Personally, I ship via container just for the peace of mind. RORO might be cheaper but the experience is sometimes not pretty. From ATL to LOS (via Savannah or Charlotte) you can get a container that will load 4 cars (2 SUVs and 2 Sedans) for $6000 (max). It takes about 21 days to get to Lagos.I'm shipping one next week. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Please be skeptical, these people have a bad reputation and should not be trusted. Your goods will take twice the time to arrive.

Call the below company
AES Inc aesshipping.com 1 Slater Dr Elizabeth, NJ 07206 USA +1 908-436-2150
I shipped cars all the time to Nigeria, cost $1225 to Lagos, $1130 to Coutonou.
They will fax you a form, fill and fax back with a copy of car titile. They will fax back to you a loading dock receipt and direction to port.
Take the car to the port and you will be given a dock receipt. When your car sail, you will be notified and will have to pick up your bill of laden and pay the shipping cost.

Hello Mufasaus, i was just wondering , do you have any idea it'll cost me to clear a vehicle from the port in Lagos because this is Naija, even after shipping, you'll have to sort one or two people, or would a clearing agent sweat all of it out for me? Thanks.

Hi all,
Basically, i'm looking to ship a 40 footer container containing 2 Suvs (Land Rover 2006 models) and 2 normal Sedans Cars from the US to Nigeria. Can Any1 tell me the following:
1) How much would it cost to clear the container on arrival in Nigeria
2) How long does it take to clear a container once it arrives Apapa Port assuming all documentantion and money is ready?
3) Would the cost of clearing be dependent on the declared value of the container or the container clearing price is fixed irrespective of what or how many cars are inside?
4) Finally, could anyone reconmend a good clearing agent in Nigeria?
Thanks Guys

Hi Leslexx, I can take care of the clearing of your 1x40ft container.I am a licensed custom clearing agent based in Lagos. The cost of clearing a container depends on what you have inside the container. It will take me at most seven working days to get your container out of the port, after its arrival. That is, when all the necessary requirement are available. You can contact me via email < adexfem@yahoo.co.uk> for further discussion or you call me on 2348056345590.

Just out of interest, why does every "agent" on here always seem to have a PAYG mobile phone number, or email as sole contact? Why no fixed landlines??
|
|
|
|
|

adexfem (m)

Siena Its only idle agents that will give out fixed land line numbers. As for me i stay in my office when i don't have jobs at hand. Why don't you want to call a mobile number.I am sure you are in UK.Guy if you have a serious business at hand give me a call or send an email.
