My Zone, My Love, My Passion
« on: January 30, 2009, 03:58 PM »

I wanted to be rich and famous,
With a name that is not anonymous,
To enjoy the best things in life,
Married to a beautiful wife.
Driving the best wonders on wheels,
and guaranteed of my daily meals.
So i looked up the list of professions,
But my mind was caught up in confusion,
Asking people for recommendation,
only help increased my heart's commotion.
i decided to think things through on my own,
so that the decision would be my own.
I thought long and hard on what to do,
But none of the professions I saw was cool.
My mind yearned for something as natural as nature,
That would relate to any culture.
I tried my hand at singing,
But of notes and lyrics I had no inkling
I tried to draw,
But it seems I had hands made of claws.
I tried to be a politician,
But it was not honest enough as the profession of a technician.
I tried my hand at boxing,
But I ended up with so much beating.
I tried dancing,
But I felt like a chicken flapping
I tried to be a teacher,
But got rejected by my own daughter.
I tried my hand at cooking,
but i seems to always cook what i was burning
Then I tried writing,
And I enjoyed it like kissing.
So I weighed my options,
With a view of solving my heart’s commotion.
I gave serious thought to be becoming a poet,
It made me feel like a flirt.
Could I really become famous by writing poems?
Is that not like getting high on petrol fumes?
What could I write about?
I asked people around.
I wrote about money,
But my lines were simply corny.
I wrote about love,
But I was still on love’s learning curve
I wrote about how to eat honey,
Well, at least my lines were pretty funny.
So I decided to just flow naturally,
Not letting my lines be done too carefully,
I stayed to enjoy myself,
This I must confess.
Thus writing became my passion,
though not yet my profession.

Everybody loves winning,
And winning isn’t necessary sinning.
Few of those who love winning are goal getters,
While most are gold diggers.
Most of the goal getters don’t have vision,
Therefore they always fail in their missions.
Some of them have got actions,
But quite a number of them lack imaginations.
They usually have got the funk,
But which more often than not turns out to be junk.
People like that always try to impress,
And also oppress,
Claiming and acting like time achievers,
While all they are big time deceivers.
They lack aspirations,
And at end of the day are always full of lamentations,
Whether you are a goal getter or a gold digger,
It doesn’t really matter.
The world is big enough to accommodate all sorts.
But in all you do always be dedicated,
And surely your life would be less complicated.

then where else has the sunflower dropped from

who says there are no butterflies in the moon
and who on earth could denie its made of white cheese

these says there are no stars in the earth
what else would he call the precious stones of the mines

who says the sky has no eye

who says there is no head in mind

ok, me turn

 Huh Huh Huh

we make them everyday,
some without thinking,
while some, we do with our full concentartion,
everyday we make a minimum of ten,
maximum of inifinity,
from tiny, everyday stuff,
to the big, once off stuff.
at times we tend to put off the most important ones
while we face d ones that should be put off.
d way and manner we make them
dictates how they affect our lives,
we can't but make them,
and make them we must
think it thru, if we must
but never, ever fail to make them
what do we make , u ask?
well, decisions of course.
from waking up, to standing up,
from eating, to reading,
from friendship, to relationship,
from job, to accomodation,
from sex, to marriage,
we must all make the decisions,
so think,
pray,
and make them,
b4 they make u.

Love is an emotional feeling,
that makes u feel like u are flying,
it goes way more than just a physical attarction,
its more of a fusion of emotions,
devoid of lamentation,
and condemnation.
Though it invovles plenty of expectations,
and anticipation,
making u want to see the person everyday,
and at every opprotunity to have your say.
It takes over your mind,
puts your heart in a bind,
consumes your time,
and makes u gladly spend your dime.

Love is most times a gain,
but sum times we c more of d pain,
whether gain or pain,
u can always love again,
just make sure u enjoy it,
neva u endure it.

Olulu, u dey burst my head
Any other tin, i fit dread
your lines dey make me wan kolo
U know, like person wey don jogodo
Especially d ryhming part
Bone oooh, d tin dey pierce me like dart

Right now i'm bursting at d seam
Just like you, it comes like a dream
I could rhyme till eternity
Even lines that could beat elasticity

On Nairaland, some rhymers make me tick
I mean, rhymes that makes me stick
               to this particular thread
i love it like butter and bread

Hope i could mention names
Believe me, some include dames
Maedan, princesa top my list
Really, this ladies i would never de-list

Olulu, your ease at dishing it out confounds me
It makes me wanna act like a ''wanna be''
Truly, poetry to me is a way of life
When i'm on it, i see no strife.

well, done dis b4, but on the joke forum
now, am bringin it home,

PLAY SAFE
I saw a girl in ekpoma,
Seated in a dark corner,
Chewing a nut called kola,
And sipping a bottle of coca cola.
As a true player,
An highly skilled woman hunter,
And a very successful toaster.
I stepped up to the sister,
In order to make her my lover.
Naturally am not a liar,
But I be sweet talker,
So I told the sister
My name na Michael Power
And that I be obasanjo’s uncle’s aunt’s step brother.
Sharp, sharp she draws me closer,
Telling me her name na Tina,
But that I can also call her Edna,
That she needs a black brother
That has the power
To make her feel better.
Since the weather was getting colder
So I took her to my quarters
So we could get a little bit warmer
I used my finger to check the sister’s under
But I discover
That my ten fingers
Enter the sister for under
Anyway I brought out my hammer
And ram enter the sister for under
I first started to go tender
Then I went faster
Na so she say brother you can do better
I then started to hammer harder
Na so she shout brother you are greater
And as I go deeper
Na so she scream brother
You are the real lover
That has the power
To take me to the ninth wonder.
Anyway, nine months later,
I was a father,
Cos I didn’t use the rubber.
