It worked. u start with the 1st 3 digits, then add the last 4, no big deal since u have to add the last 4. There is nothing creepy about it, the division and subtraction removes the digits between the first three and last four you gave.

Alright, here's the math behind it. (I had nothing else better to do no?  Tongue)

Say your # is 466-2346.

Let x = 466 (first three digits)
Let y = 2346 (last 4 digits)

Now following the steps:

1. use a calculator
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2

[250(80x + 1) + y + y - 250] / 2

[20000x + 250 + y + y - 250] / 2

20000x / 2 = 10000x    and  250 - 250 = 0 / 2 = 0   and  2y / 2 = y

then you have: 10000x + y

So now the steps have been simplified, plug in the numbers and voila!

10000(466) + 2346=

4660000 + 2346 = 4662346

 Wink

it works; that's great. but then Skirmish was right. it just one little (or big) trick. write the 1st 3 numbers, go through a maze of +X-/. then add the second ones. just like adding 3748 to a number like 2530000. this gives u d no. 2533748.
but then, the idea was pretty cool. keep it up.! Wink
