I guess we are 8th because of the transfer values of Martins, Mikel, Yakubu and co and also for the cummulative goal scoring adventures of Yak, Martins, Kanu, Osaze, Ikechukwu Uche, Ijeh, Ogbuke and so on, abi now @ Kit, I never knew Fluker Eagles ever climbed up 5th in the world, Kai!

@ JK,
1 Brazil 2 Italy 3 Argentina 4 France 5 Germany 6 England 7 The Netherlands 8 Nigeria 9 Portugal 10 Czech Republic 11 Cameroon 12 Spain 13 Ukraine 14 Sweden 15 Croatia 16 Greece 17 Switzerland 18 Côte d'Ivoire 19 Egypt 20 Romania
How the rankings are calculated
Match Result: - Win-Draw-Defeat = 3 points - 1 points – 0 points Importance of match - 1 (friendly match) to 4 (FIFA World Cup™) Strength of opponent - Position in world ranking (no. 1 = 2.00, no. 30 = 1.70, no. 118 = 0.82 etc.) Formula: [200 minus Position] / 100 Regional strength - Based on results in last three FIFA World Cups (wins per confederation per match) Period - Since the change to the FIFA World Ranking procedure which came into effect in August 2006 the rankings will no longer take into account the last eight years of results only the last four years of results. Last four years, gradual decline in importance of results: 100%- 50% - 30% - 20% Number of matches considered per year - Average points gained from all matches in last 12 months (minimum: 5 matches)

we have the capacity to beat any team in the world, if we have the character to do it, we are too full of ourselves, thats just the problem,
another thing i've noticed about the nigerian team is that they never counter attack, when we have the chance we slow the game down sluggishly, which is so annoying, can't they learn from valencia of old or arsenal,
mean nigerian football needs some sort of rejuvenation,
but frankly we should be like 10th but not behind cameroon shaaa,
