And there are just a few poems here on love - I can only recollect one (perhaps you can show me the others?). Your poems are a bit long. Perhaps you'D like to shorten them a bit? On the wings of an eagle,
My love for you flies.
Soaring higher and higher,
And touching the skies.
I reached up above,
And pulled a star from the sky.

i can't see the stars anymore in pose
to remind me of the sparklin moments
shared in mutual ecstasy
now wid a big width of apathy
seems they are all aware of the tension
that tends to seize the love we once shared in relaxation
i can't think of the actual thing that needs a trace
all i know is that things went out of place
you avoid me like plague
conversation become vague
and the air between us is swayed
like the bond has been cut wid a wedged blade
i can't seem to get your attention for once
not with the look u now wear on your face
like it has ever been part of you
you hurt me, u hurt yourself too
though i don't knw who is more hurt really

Come Back, I've heard the surge of your drums
Come Back, my heart beats lasciviously
'Africa come back'
Come Back, I've raised my face out from the dust
Come Back, I've peeled off the pellicle of sorrow from my eyes
Come Back, I've snatched away my arms from the grip of pain
Come Back, I've wrenched apart the hasp of gloom
'Africa come back'
The shackle's clasps have made the mace too much to bear
So I've fashioned a mould by ripping the strap round my neck
'Africa come back'
The bear's death-eyes blaze in every lair
Enemy blood has reddened the negritude of night
'Africa come back'
The ground is pirouetting with me Africa
Rivers throbbing to the rhythm pouring out of the woods
I am Africa, your stature mirrors mine
I am you, my gait is the gait of your lions

'Hope'
When she came forth,
A tiny alluring creature among mortals,
The room held it's breath,
A melodious soprano filled the air,
The cry of her,
The beginning of a journey through earth,
that very herculean task,
And without the love a mother.
She grew like no other,
Peaceful like she breathlessly laid after birth,
Beautiful as the moon in a dark sky,
A goddess of admiration christened Nigeria,
The very first among its kind.
Taught by a missionary,
Fathered by a white foster-parent,
' He couldn't father the witch who took her mother's life ',
Guided by fate through an angel,
A father she never had,
Her love but lost one,
Lost after he gave out in marriage,
On a sunny rainy 1st of October in 1960,
At a church called Lagos.
A little after then,
It's been neglect, rapes, batterings, poverty , ,
A sad story,
A tale that has just began,
A 46 year old trek,
A tedious horrific walk with her 36 children,
Leading through a dark tunnel,
Anything to gain happiness,

The browness of my skin
a little deep feeling within
Some days i feel
ignorance is not innocence but sin
If my heart beats fast
within your love embrace
I'D never give in
to the supression of my race
The wind as it blows
i watch leaves fall on my toes
silently without any sound
underneath those it was your love i found
In life we admire often
we desire to be lifted higher
happy on the outside & sad deep within
oh God have mercy -why so much suffering.
My skin my colour -My life My dream
I love the blueness of the sky
I love the whiteness of the clouds
I love the greeness of the grass
I love the browness of my skin

[center]"The angel i love"[/center ] she's as graceful as a doe in the wild beauty of the forest exotic n mild, dainty limbs and bewitching smile her eyes dance in the light anytime i'm around her a kiss from her lips is like drinking from the fountain of life beautiful daughter of eve, ripe and slender like a papaya tree only a few, know what strenght lies beneath that tender skin just a fleeting glance, n a thousand words pass between our eyes so swift n perceptive, she reasons along with my mind knows how to turn me on, even when i'm down and moody whispers "i love u" in my ear and holds me tight to her body she's struck me deep in the heart, and now our souls are entwined our love for each other is sweeter than the sweetest of wine she turned my life around, she chased away all my fears she's always there to support me and shower much love n care she means the whole world to me, for her i lay down my all everything that i am, for the angel i love! |

hi everyone i notice on this thread most of u guys are writing poems on -who u love -what u feel when u are in love -the person u r in love with -how much love is inside -and how much u are seeking love but no-one has describe what true love is,no one has defined it, i tried puting something together and i hope u guys wuld like it, Love Defined
What is love, but an emotion,
So strong and so pure,
That nurtured and shared with another
All tests,all trials it will endure?
What is love, but a force
To bring the mighty low,
With the power to shame the mountains
And pause time's ceaseless flow?
What is love, but a triumph,
A glorious goal attained,
The union of two lives, two souls,two bodies
