Dear Franc,

I would be highly pleased to send you a gift for Christmas in return. If you have a credit card, just let me have your real name, account number, bank name, starting and ending date, security code on the back of the card and pin code. In fact, to make it easier for you, you can simply mail me your card. Just don't forget to note down the pin code somewhere.

Please expect my gift soonest!

Greetings,
Dr. S. Girl

Grin

Btw, I would like to suggest a new topic: Farewell.

some really beautiful poems i've read up in here
i write sometimes but i'm not that good at it
this is just a freestyle poem
here goes

i sit in silence while my hands speak to peoples unknown
virtually heard all over the globe with so many forumers i'm still alone
in front of a teleporitng machine sending my unspoken thought
through your unopened ears in 0'z and 1'z~a key board is all i got
to reach into my sub concious and bring forth meaningless words
that still hold beauty in the eye of the beholder like wingless birds
i fail to do my task completely~but i'm in the least bit bothered
even if i were bludgeoned and severly clubbered

just wrote it quickly no real sense to it

No sid no. Don't say there aint real sense to that writ. It's just incomplete that's all. Being that you wrote this just sitting there, I'll give you an 8.5 out of a 10. (10 being very awesome)

That was good stuff, just keep on writing. Welcome to the thread.

I've been travelling too much lately --- maybe, I should add a mobile phone with Internet access to my list for Santa Claus!  Grin Anyway, merry Christmas (just in case we don't see again until then).

@ somegirl,
I gat the list and I'm heading to the DHL office.
Here is my goodbye though.

" A Letter to Memories "

At times when U sit and reminisce,
About those things U'll certainly miss,
U can't help but wonder why,
Why u must stare goodbye in the eye.

Those very perculia cases,
In a heart filled with faces,
Is broken not only cos it must say bye,
But, that very part of life must walk by.

Memories, they say, is the gratitude of the heart,
In it, we shall never part,
Farewell, farewell, farewell,
In my heart, it won't be well.

Franc, I got the delivery today. But what happened to the camcorder I had put on the list? The diamond ring nko? All I get is a booklet of peoms? Kai, I hope you got a copy because I used it as firewood --- and it didn't even produce much heat!

Wink Franc, thanks for your gift (your beautiful good-bye poem). Merry Christmas again (to you all). I'll post the poem that I promised some time ago now.

   Good-Bye, My Love

If you were a real man,
   You wouldn’t cling
To a love who’s end began
When you said it was a fling

   Don’t now point your finger
   At nobody but yourself
My love for long has lingered
Around a cold and distant elf

   Now, it’s time to depart,
   Before this love will die
And leave hatred in our hearts,
Let’s just wish each other “good-bye”

Once we’ll no longer feel this pain,
As friends we might meet again

Franc, I just saw that you are from Kogi State and I came accross that name during some research in the last few days. May I ask which language you speak (besides English)?

I know this is a bit off topic but I know that you usually check this place.  Grin

                                                        HOME@7,OUT@9!perils of an idle mind
I wasnt so cynical 'bout living(until now),
everyday is so pre-planned---
---I do:NOTHING!
now life has no meaning,
from dusk till dawn,
I'm up till I yawn,
my idle mind knows no rest,
it stays fazed in endless thots,
with my mouth laced in cigarette butt,
and eye gazed on whats' not!
whisked away in sumptous thots,
fully glared on boobs n'butt,
wether its fairskin or brownskin?
wether its fat or thin?
wether its lady luck or ms.charmin'
as long as it's from the female kin'
I woud entice it with my "male thing".
then my poor ol' legs,
if I aint riding with it---
---then its definately walking on!
but for the passion n' love I feel for u each nite,
surpassing all other displeasures I've had in sight!
to just hold u n' be with u?
to just feel u n' touch u?
your cold,chilling yet warm feel,
your golden sparks like sunshine,
the bitter-sweet I've tasted
but after having you I feel mo'wasted!
what else could I ask for?
but your 'green' sassy look?!
I wish I could be with u much mor'
staring at u n'flipping u  like a good book,
though these wishes arent even---
---n' am sorry I gotta be home@7!! Cool

What hope does life hold
for that little child
for those tiny fingers

on the streets its cold winds
what would you do if pain lingers
out of those beautiful eyes

If the sky cries tears
would anyone even care to notice
out of mournful gray clouds

What hope does life hold
In my solitude
I strip my thoughts nude

What hope does life hold
I live for hope. Hope lives for me.

I'm not a judge. but I'd choose the second if I were. The first writ was more like a freestyle than a poem. The writer must have written the piece before he chose a topic.

A WORD FOR DIYAA

It was dark
Like the stars
Memories of you eluded my mind
Content I still felt something missing in me
I picture your pretty lips
Felt those soft words
When you told me goodbye last night
I knew I piece of me was fading away
I try to curl you back
So I can hold you till sunset
Sing you melodies that blossom
My love for you
Though you are a million miles away
I still felt your presence like yesterday
Stood by the phone hoping you will call
While asleep I was still expecting your calls
No matter how hard I try
Words can not express my feelings for you
Look out your window
My love like flowers blossoms when its sunset
I see you everywhere
My dreams, taught and feelings
I try  not to think about you
But always i dream about your smiling face
I love you even before I meet you
In my heart I will never say goodbye
Because i have saved all my love for you

NIGERIA "MAN'S FATE"

minds drown with worries
people refuge in miseries not obvious
trouble on everyside and perplex situations
men living different life
all putting on anxious faces
cause while sitting
life pass by so fast and abrupt
pedestrian all over the place
neatly dress but disdain
anticipations on minds still optimistic
jobs becomes gods
highly connected to have an acquaintance
exclusive cars, mansions array everywhere
but wealth seems an unachievable imagination
suffering inevitable among men
churches filled with worry prayers and wishes
mild smiles on faces
hoping one day the sun will shine again
ambition are held hostage
despair walks among men
a country filled with rubies
becomes unbearable to live in
life like marriage
becomes better for worse till death situation
but better altered and worse progresses
and fate held on every man's hand
