Look, it is high time you people start scrutinizing poems before you hail them. People cannot continue to copy poems from elsewhere and dump them here yet true artists'll be showering praises on them.

@franc182

I noticed your second poem ever posted on this thread was taken from the website
www.consumating.com

the others are made up of lines individually littering every where. So I know you developed e unique technique of assembling poems. All the same sha, that very next poem you submitted after toni, it was from someone else's blog. So personally, I'm afraid of posting my poem here against the danger of it being dismantled and reassembled on some other website as another person's work.

You make me sick. Who posted it there? If u know how to read, u'll c it's me. What's your stress. I don't do such, if I do, what will I benefit? I belong to other sites and post my poems there. Next time u see my works, just take time out to check if truelypoetic007, Francis Attah Egu, myhomeis, 4ran6, or Achonu make up the addy! Careful, this is defamation, just in case u don't know.

MY CONFESSION

Everyday i blame myself
i had someone as precious as you
a diamond i cannot trade
but it seems i don't care much
am sorry its not that i didn't care about you
i have wanted to call a million times
to apologize for not keeping my love right with you
sometimes i stood alone
i picture how beautiful the world is
i despise it because you are not her with me
you are right if you hate me
i can't imagine myself forgiven you
had you treated me this same way
but my heart tells me you still love me
and i know you do

You have taken a piece of me
so precious that if i loose it
my life will never be the same again
please i am guilty of all charges
find somewhere in your heart
and consider my appeal
i still want to be part of your life
to share in your pain, sorrow and joy
to be beside you
to hold you when you fall
my life will be incomplete
if one day i wake up
and don't find you by my side
i love you more than you think i do

 Behold the lake

sleek as silver fish out of silence
i settle rest against the sickle tree
to catch a glimpse of it once again
to behold the lake

there's gleam of gold and green and scarlet
as the light fell amongst the leaves and trailing orchids
what a wonderful view, so terrific
the cloying sweetness of it all
the profusion and privacy it affords
from the streets hustle and burstle
like a sanctuary, where i lay my thoughts
bare,against the sun and moon

like a lily flower
i toss my head up
humn,the soft damp air
heavy with the scent of ginger flowers
sleekly fishes jump in and out
sailing spread like a sea bird's wing
running before the night wind

now the sky black and starless
the still waters,now dark
the moon that will rise today ,
a dying moon.
one day, when it rises new and young
with stars so bright
there i'll come in early light
to catch a glimpse of it once more
to behold the lake!

Poem written after visiting the Nike Lake resort in Enugu

PORTRAIT

A gaze far into nothingness
your leaving has left me in loneliness
sometimes I'm high
memories of you bring me down

It's hard to just live for the moment
when thoughts of you seem so ancient
yesterday's past drifting into the present
a look, a smile is all on this portrait

A tune, a sound is all in this song
so many hours and minutes
sometimes we stare but we see nothing
bracing against challenges coming

silence makes no sound
this portrait i have found
I'm free to view the world
through another's eyes

@lilian777 - I thought Behold the lake was breathtaking.

My Very Own Video

Just like a video machine,
I rewind, and replay…
All the magical moments spent with you,
All the deadpan humor of once in a while,
All the wild and crazy things done with you
I wish, I just keep wishing,
I can keep them as clear as crystal
Or tucked safe somewhere in my heart.

Can I lock these memories in a bottle,
and set them flying calmly-wild like a butterfly,
Or peacefully free as the dove,
anytime I lay my head to sleep?
Oh yes I can…my very own video
Then safely tuck them back in
Only to rewind and replay it over and again
In my dreams, love
In my sweet dreams.

Mountains of Viva calls (1)

Sitting on her soul for yet another time
Bound by the fiery shackle of sweet-hatred
For love, they did love her she believed
And bound, they did bound her,
bound by that filthy love
Which endears them yet flares their passion,
Passion to understand her cowardly courage,
to break away.
Die to live was her passion or live, live, Viva in death.
To bend her will was their resolve.

Trust worthy she is, they eloquently cried
for her presence, her presence!
Viva! For Viva she cried. Viva Zapata,
Father’s final words invariably, is final,
She craved for sweet recklessness…Viva
What would it be like to be lost,
lost in your bare mountains?
anger and fear, ignition key to determination

Time to do her own thing, stars shone in her eyes,
enough to see through the dark diamond mine of Solomon
The wooing sound of the wind calls her by name
Faraway in the bare mountains
With a perpetual smile she answered
Viewing the world from an adult’s eye
yet with the innocence of a child

How much I’ve longed for you. Viva
Viva! Viva!! Viva!!!
I taste your rain on my tongue,
Your sun on my back. Ha, freedom is life
No roof, no staff of bread, but only now
Just her faith in her fate is enough
Unbound from the fiery shackle of sweet –sorrow
Freedom is to live. She lives!
Now her soul is in her soul, in its place.

Story of a young girl craving to live her life and be free from parental domination

lillian777 check this out,

BEAUTIFUL ONE

Beautiful one, where at thou
Lovely one, here i bow
Body and soul we avow
Distance apart, we afar

In my mind, you abide
In my soul, there resides
Beautiful thoughts of our time worth while
Stolen glances at you all worth while

Mona Lisa, you i call
Da Vincis' greatest amongst them all
Complexion, nor compared to like a god
Reflection falling on me like the sun god

The Holy Grail, non never understood
Templars fought and died for its good
Revealing such a history to you
Describes how much the chalice lies in you

A bosom compared to Aphrodite's alone
Please grant my soul, and be its home
Zeus almighty would forgive us, even for this sin
My immortal, you my heart is longing to see,

My Faith
I have been walking two thousand miles
but no one know where i am
when i was thirsty i never found water to drink
when i was hungry
no one gave me food to eat
when i was weary and looking for shelter
i never found any
whats going to become of me?
am i still going to be wondering
all the rest of my life without aid
and nothing to cling to
and die off with this misery?
or will i be optimistic
if life will turn around
where at the end
i can be sober expecting aid
where i will cling to and be at peace?

FALLING TO THE GROUND

On the ground i sit on dead leaves
coloured brown
camouflage upon my skin
my days, so many
this race, so tiring

sun penetrates through the innocence
of me
the silence
of you
the many sunsets
we see

Listen quietly
birds engage in a calm ritual
Caged or surrounded which one ?

wish i could fly away for ever
and ever
eyes wide open
timelessness
everyday emptiness

falling to the ground
without a sound
gradually seeing the spectrum of light around
On the ground i sit on dead leaves
coloured brown

' EMOTIONS '

IF I ASK YOUR EYES CLOSED MISTRESS,
I SEEK NOTHING CLOSE TO YOUR DRESS,
A STRONGER FEELING THAN WORDS,
US OUT OF OUR HEADS,
A SENSATION LIKE ICE,
ONLY WHEN I CLOSE YOUR EYES.

Will soon be back, until then however, impressive is the word!

it funny you know, speaking from the heart gives you freedom.it opens the human heart and satisfies.
i used to think it'll make one look weak for bringing out those inner most feelings but i have been proved wrong .it brings out those things that has been hiding.poetry is life,it makes your  heart younger

I'm not crazy
i only ask that you forgive me

I'm not the man i used to be
i only changed with the weather

I'm not the best
but i strive to be better

I'm not gold or diamonds
but my type is always rare

You are not the rainbow
but you put colours inside my world

I'm not crazy
but you and I can run away

I am but a dreamer
dreams do come true someday

As a gentle touch, you came down to me. As a smooth caress you made my soul cry for more.
Like a glimmering elder you came down on me - you became the darkness,
You may ask yourself - is this an illusion? The path between reality and madness are now blocked.
Insane or not, what is for real and what is not? Walking the line, strolling the fine line between pagan and christian - reality or madness, does it really matter? Maybe it´s the same thing - all in the thick web of illusions? Who am I and who are you? Will we remain as what we are and will we live to see another day?
We were not the beginning and we nor shall be the end. Our fate is sealed and all is everlasting.
In the shadows you can always find "The friend" and in the darkest shadow of them all, my home will forever be
