. I am not sure where you reside, but try traveling any where in the world, as soon as you show a Nigerian passport all hell will break. I was a victim of this slogan, even though I handle my business legitimately. I am now a US citizen, but before i was, customs at JFK always have this impression as a Nigerian, you must have drugs on

I really don't agree with this statement. The idea that anything African is always viewed negatively is wrong. Corruption is rife world over. And African states are as corrupt as the western states. The difference is that Africans are not patriotic.
Last week it was claimed that no African University is among the top 100 in the world save one in South Africa. I find such ratings dishonest and meant to redicule Africans into believing in the west.
The faster Africans rose to defend themselves the better. Am not a Nigerian but a Kenyan.

Well it depends on who does the rating, I went to school in Africa, and I attended school in the state as well. African school are more competitive and more educational. We might not have the technology and advance equipment, but we are smarter than the western world.

As i said earlier we r not even close to d ist. i left Nigeria when i was 12 too and i live in d state now. the people who live in d state can testify to this and those who watch d news regularly. At least someone kills another person 4 stupid stuff like i don't like him/her, she stole my boyfriend and other little stuff like that. sons kill father because he'stoo in to their business and husband kill their wives because they think she's cheating. there was a case where this 2 12year old stabbed ther 3rd friend with a knife thirty something times bcuz she was too smart. there have been cases of Psychos who got twisted mind and kill because they were abused when they werer young or somefin. i was at this liquor store last month with my mom because she want to buy monry order and diz guy knowing there was camera everywhere with stashed guns still went ahead to steal this $5.35gin. there is corruption everywhere and let me tell inmy opinion drug using started in NIgeria through trafficking it from other countries to ours

The level of corruption of a nation is measured based on the number of international crimes committed. Unfortunately, Nigeria falls among one these countries who's crime outside Nigeria is immeasurable.
@damygurl, if corruption is to be jugded based on the facts you've layed down, then I bet USA will be the most corrupt nation in the world.

But you and I know for a fact. we don't have police extortion in the state like it is in Nigeria. you can't buy justice in America except if you are Micheal jackson. Nigeria money speaks. you can get away with any thing as long as you have the money to pay the cops or law enforcement agents. their if fraud and 419 any where you go, but do you know most of the 419 in the state are committed by naijas?

Not just in Nigeria alone. How do u know that Micheal jackson is not innocent? u can't really say because u wasn't there.
yea i will agree with u that d police in da state r more strict than d onez we got in Nigeria but let me tell u we still got great police officers in Nigeria. d bad onez have just given d good onez a bad reputation.

JOJO you are not a Nigerian and there for you can't speak for Nigerians, I've been to many places, and the things that a Nigeria will do is amazing, sure, not all Nigerians are currupt, but the ones that are bad are bad to the bone. before OLUWOLE was raided, you can get any thing you want in this world out of that shaft. all you have to do is go to OSHODI OR ISALE-EKO and you will see what we talking about.

well i've been to isale eko and oshodi and though it's rough but downtown lagos happens to be one of my fav part whenever i go to lagos. don't just look at d negative aspect. it's got lots of good about it. downtown of where i live in Maryland happens to be more worse and more coorrupt dan downtown lagos. people kill without remorse and nobody really cares even if they do they not gon say noting about it and u better not leave ur purse inplain view because before u can say oops it's gone. at least in Nigeria we got eachothers back. that's one thing i like about Nigeria.

Like we said, Not all Nigerians are bad, but the bad ones supersede the good ones. this are facts, if you ever have the chance to come to Nigeria. GO to OSHODI OR ISALE_EKO as we call it, go WALK down the street of SHRINE. I Guarantee you will not come out of those places with your wallet or bag. cause Bad Nigerians can SMELL JJC JOURNEY JUST COME once you land.

If there are more 'bad Nigerians' than the good ones, then i don't have to go to OSHODI for my purse to be stolen. I can as well be anywhere in the country and not even trust you Odeku nor my bros and sisters. It is easy to exaggerate things and say whatever we wish. The indices used for these ratings are never absolute. The Indian traders that manufactures fake drugs and sell to countries in Nigeria are not part of that indices. These guys are as well corrupt. In my opinion, apart fom the guys that Odeku knows and in contact with, majority of Nigerians are good and nice. I have plenty of friends all over the globe (Nigerians), 99.99% of them are not corrput.

MR omon you are in UK right? do you know that most Nigerians that are been sought for drug trafficking and 419 relocate to ENGLand and CANADA? just because you are not a socialist doesn't mean this problem don't exist. this are facts and Next time you travel to Nigeria, go for a walk and come back to this forum and tell your experience. Criminal are every where you go in the world not just Nigeria, but the Nigerians criminals are more active and fearless and brutal. Only In Nigeria can your traveling document be stolen and you can go to OLUWOLE and buy it back. I travel to Nigeria at least 4 times a year, and I am opportune to have the luxury of security guards. as soon as you get out of MURITALA INTERNATIONAL: AIRPORT IN LAGOS the experience begins.
