Tell 'em man!  Cheesy I absolutely agree with u on this.

Also considering the educational sector, it's in Nigeria u hear mostly that people buy results of examinations that they didnt even sit for.

If you as a person passes your exams and score high marks, your marks can be sold out to someone with a lesser score/grades. If you write UME and you don't score up to the cut-off mark, just make sure you have your N250,000 and go to UNILAG or LASU. Your admission there will be guaranteed. (There are so many other schools like that too in Nigeria).

The whole thing actually sucks here. But I believe the story is going to change one day.

Abeg my brother we on the same page people say we are not corrupt, but you can't get a job or go to college with out greasing someones palm. things like that don't happen in the state. you want to host a party, you have to bribe NEPA, you go to bank and they tell you the bank is out of money, but if you bribe the teller, you will get your money with no qualms.

i've walked isale eko and none of my stuff was stolen. maybe u've just been not so very lucky to meet d good guys. hello who r u to judge people that they can't change. if everybody is given a second chance or an opportunity to change 4 d better i know that more dan half will take d chance. do u really think they want to commit those crimes i ain't talking about d rich kids who r so spoil and lack parental care that they result to crimes just to go against there parents and get attention. most of d poor peeps want to havetheir own money and be able 2 do their own thing. that don't justify them though. u do know that d people who offer bribes r  part of d people corrupting d country. if d rich peeps don't offer bribes then d poor ones who collect them won't be able to thereby stoping another form of corruption. I'm no trying to discriminate or noting but if d rich peeps will stoping thinking they r above d law then most of d crimes in Nigeria will go down. who goes to Oluwole in d first place I'm sure it's not some poor peeps who don't have money to feed his family not to talk of buying travelling papers.
if u have Ur grade u gon get to college. All my friendz r in college and they didn't grease any elbow. d onez that didn't get in 4 one reason or d other waited and sat 4 d exam again d next year that is not to say people people don't buy results.
who's  gon pay 250,000 to get to college? not some poor dude 4 sure. so most of d crimes rest with d rich folks. Now is majority of Nigerians criminals? nope!!!!! d minority r!!!! All d Nigerians I've met r nice people who've never committed no crime if u don't count d stupid stuff they did as kids which is normal 4 all kids at their age.
@odeku have u had d oppoutunity to meet half of d total population in Nigeria?

Probably u have been so lucky to have been meeting the goodguys. Have u ever gone to a place like Ikeja/Oshodi where u see guys (touts) approach you to give them your belongings. If you refuse, then u are doomed. You'll be beaten black and blue then your belongings will be seized too.

hello who r u to judge people that they can't change.
Read my post again. I said, "But I believe the story is going to change one day.". Please always read well before responding to people's posts.

I really don't blame your ignorance since u aren't in Nigeria. Things have changed here. These days, it's the poor ones that demand for bribes from the rich ones. Moreover, he was talking about NEPA. Why on earth should NEPA ask u to bring some amount of money just to supply you light? Doesn't that show corruption?

As I said, U arent here so u don't know how things operate here. Moreover i don't think you read my post well. I said, "If you write UME and you don't score up to the cut-off mark, just make sure you have your N250,000 and go to UNILAG or LASU. Your admission there will be guaranteed." Of course if you have your grades, u are going to enter a university. Though, that's if your grades/scores have not been tampered with before they get to you. Tell me, what do u say to this one: it's in Nigeria u hear mostly that people buy results of examinations that they didnt even sit for. Huh

So u mean u've not heard of or seen one Nigerian that has ever committed a crime? Anywayz, come to Nigeria, especially Lagos and go inside any Internet cafe. I assure you, out of 10 people in there, 5 of them will be scammers.

Gurl, let's not deceive ourselves. You arent in this country and u don't know what's operating. Stop arguing with those of us that sleep, wake, eat, play and work in Nigeria. We sure know better about what's going on than those of you abroad. Nigeria is truely one of the most corrupt nations in the world.

If you go to classified sites these days, u'll see so many sellers that will boldly put in front of their items==> NO NIGERIA, NO WEST AFRICA, NO AFRICA. Any day you have the time to really surf the net, check foreign forums on crimes. Every single person will definitely mention Nigeria.

@goodguy i was actually trying not to mention a name but i wasn't talking to u aight? so go take a chil pill. i only came to d state like 3yrs ago so i know what i'm talking about. and i did read d post maybe u shouldry reading mine because it wasn't dirscted to u.
about d Nepa thing it's called electricity bill everybody has to pay one of those. i ain't saying Nigeria is not corrupted but why all d fuss. yal should try leaving it alone because if nigeria was human it's gon be one unhappy and frustrated one i'm sure it would have commited suicide by now. yall should stop seeing d bad about it. wt exactly have any of uall done to stop it?
@odeku tell me  didn't just callme boo like u talking to a 2yr old? u know with all d experience u got tell me 5 positive things about Nigeria? my felw Nigerians? they r ur fellow nigerians too. maybe yall know lots of corrupt peope because u associate with them. i'm not saying Nigerians r not corrupt. of because they r but not most of them!!!!! so yall shouldstop twisting my words to suit u!!!!!
if d poor demand it they gotta have something on d rich then like some dirty secret they don't want exposed. d main prob is d governmnet not d people. if d government would pay d police salary on time they won't be on d street demanding money from d bus drivers.

Now you're making full sense. But then, don't think people are not working towards making Nigeria a better place. A lot of people (including me) have plans for this country.

Talking about the NEPA thingy, we aint talking about bills now. In Nigeria, you pay exhorbitant bills yet, u are supplied light for just 6 hrs (out of 24 hrs) per day. Now, when a time comes for you to do something important, maybe a party, you need to pay extra bills (bribe) to prevent them from taking off the light during the show. So tell me, what do u call that?

Of course, well all know most faults are from the government. But then, if we wait for the government to fix things for us, Nigeria will remain stagnant for life.

The man who introduced microsoft for the whole world to use isn't part of the government. He's just an independent man who locked himself up in a room for 6 months trying to find a solution to America and the rest of the world's problems.; which of course was a success.

Nigerians can do better!! Cool

@goodguy tell me one plan you got to make Nigeria better, i was making sense before try reading and understanding what people write!

Without the government there is not much you can do.  You gon pay the salaries of all d workers?  Or provide gas for every vehicle? We just gotta try to support the governmnt.  Or try voting for better leaders!  And pray to God to make it better.  Nigerians are not the most corrupt people!

A part of the Nigerian problem is our self denial. In 1987 as a young lawyer in Lagos i had an argument with the female clerk in court who hissed at me because i did not leave her the change left over after paying court fees. Her attitude was like that of most people in both the public and private sector. Gross and perverse greed coupled with a lack of morals and respect for self. For our information there is the physical corruption we know involved in bribe taking and giving but what of the moral corruption which has meant that our people are living in a false world. where everyone is out to cheat the other , where husband and wife deceive each other while publicly professing their undying love for each other, where most girls have to sleep their way to economic survival and where we still think it is OK to have servants slaving over us. Burkina faso is one of the poorest countries in the world. Ditto Mali . yet crime is relatively rare in those countries. a people without dignity and pride in themselves who refuse to invest in their children will lose their wealth and their honour and finally their freedom.

Question: Are Nigerians Corrupt ?
Answer: YES.

Question: Are Nigerians the Most Corrupt People In the World?
Answer: NO! We are corrupt, granted, but not the most corrupt!

@Jojo, It takes roughly about 2 days to get from Nigeria To Cananda, but I think you should ask Scorpio for exact details. She lives in Canada.
