Mikel Obi's time will come.
He plays for Chelsea for crying out loud so what do u expect?
Shawn Wright Phillips, Joe Cole, Ferriera, Wayne Bridge all sit on the bench so why finger-print Mikel?

He's already regretting it without a doubt. He'll make a little bit more money playing for Chelsea now but after his contract runs out in 2 years, who knows what will happen to him?, He isn't getting playing time ahead of Essien/Ballack/Lampard/Joe Cole/Makelele. It was a very bad decision on his and his agent's part.

He will not regret joining Chelsea.
Why are Nigerians so quick to judge Mikel?
He will play when the time comes.
Mikel is young and must learn to be patient.

I AM VERY SAD FOR MIKEL OBI FOR NOT PLAYING MUCH TIME.BUT I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND ONE THING THAT MIKEL'S TIME WILL SOON COME
ALTHOUGH I PREFERRED THAT MIKEL SHOULD GO TO MAN UNITED BECAUSE THERE IN MAN UNITED THEY NEED A MIDFIELDER WHO CAN HOLD THE BALL AT SPACE,DISTRIBUTE WITH LONG OR SHUT PASSES  IN WHICH MIKEL OBI CAN DO VERY WELL.
EVEN THE LITTLE TIME THE COACH IS GIVING HIM I THINK MIKEL IS TRYING HIS BEST AND I KNOW MIKEL OBI WILL STILL SHINE BOTH IN CLUB AND IN SUPER EAGLE.
So Mikel obi can never regret for going to Chelsea in Jesus name, Amen

football is a game of politics , some people are not as good as mikel but are playing regularly.Playing regularly keeps you fit and improves your playing techniques.
I hope he leaves chealsea and go to where he can get a regular shirts and stop sitting on the bench while some other lads play

Its very easy to cook a soup with your mouth like an adage says.I would want you to know that Mikel is going to be the best creative midfielder that ever walked the surface of this earth. Take it or leave it!!!
To start with, how many of u guys/gals have ever bothered to painstakingly read through his history/background{im not talking about hearsay o} I want you to kow that this humble guy is not only a beloved of the Lord,he has also been singled out by God to be favoured of HIM.If u know his story well,u will know that he might be bench warming as some people are saying now,but a time is coming when this guy will not only play full time, but billions of people will sit glued to the TV just to watch this bundle of talent whenever he is playing{both at home and in his country}.You just wait 4 that time,as i will always say:TIME WILL TELL ALL THINGS!
I'm convinced that things will definitely work in his favour because each time he had it rough{i mean like the controversy that saw the 2 premiership giants fighting on who will sign this guy on}he always came out  of it VICTORIOUS and more popular.Things might be rough{i mean sitting on the bench} for him now at Chelsea, but trust that this Beloved of the LORD will come out of it and would start playing his 90mins.Who says that Manchester United will not drop this guy the moment they find someone who can play as a creative midfielder.Dont forget that we are not only blacks, but also that we are from Africa which makes us BLACK AFRICANS.How many Africans has MAN You given the oppurtunity to express themselves? If they have ever done,i can bet that those africans were frustrated out of the club in less than 2 seasons. And its this same Chelsea that can boast of blacks{both africans and non Africans} like Mikel,Drogba,Essien,Makelele,Wright philips,Kalou an so on.So PLSSSSSSSS let Mikel be,He is about to EXPLODE!!!!!!!!

Mikel pay you to come defend am for here?, Truth is his agent made a mistake and he'll pay for it, Chelsea is a tough place to get a starting role or even coming off the bench as a CMF. Alou Diarra might even have an advantage over Mikel seeing how he's a DMF just like Makelele who will retire very soon.

Jack and Huc
I can see you are slowly switching to Chelsea leaving united.
I have noticed you never say a no on chelsea matters reasons you know better.
Which  Mikels'time is to come Jackal? Is it after he will've formed a permanent butt print on the bench?
Honestly,Mikel is at the pick of his career and Chelsea have to justify his good form in pitch.
Ok! I argue he has his billions of nairas but at the end of the day he remains a player and he is not amused by not playing, furthemore not as smart as people like Duff or crespo to have left.
you two can give it a two way view as your IQs are beyond zeroing. I know it!
Nearing his twenties am not convinced he has more time as you put it.
The man was Ok at Man  and he would be playing twenty four seven there.
thats my own!

@Jackal

Do you need to comment on this at all?

Tip: Amuneke was one of our finest player in 1994, he went to Tunisia 94 did not play a single match until the final.

He was fielded inthe final match( On insistence of Yekini), scored two goals and won Africa footballer of the year that year.

@ Priscilla,
I want u to understand i am a Man Utd fan by birth and by choice.
My love for United is deep-rooted so forget the fact that i am switching to Chelsea.
Objectivity should not be confused as me switching clubs and i ain't like y'all gunner fans.
The unbeaten run of 2003/04 was the main reason why many people joined Arsenal.
90% of Arsenal fans today were supporting other clubs 4 years ago but they find it difficult to switch again as we can now identify most of them.
Prisccy was a Southampton fan by birth but later joined Arsenal by choice in 2004.
Whats your name? Judas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Back 2 the issue at hand,
Don't get sucked into this issue as many soccer-illiterates are doing on Nairaland.
Mikel Obi is a player i know personally and i am sure he has the natural ability to be the best player Africa has ever produced but such things take time.
No football player in the world can boast he never sat on the bench to understudy big players in his club.
From the perceptions of the imbeciles on this thread u can as well say Theo Walcott will regret joining Arsenal, ain't it?

A club as big as Chelsea is not a place where players (especially young guns) can stroll into the 1st team easily.
Mikel's time will surely come and i have no doubts he would set the world ablaze when the time comes.
For instance, Louis Saha is now the top gun at Man Utd. Who would have thought this was possible 12 months ago?
Another classic example is Ole Gunner Solskjaer. He was always on the bench and he is still the most respected player at Man Utd.
Mikel Obi will surely liberate himself but he still needs to learn one or two things because he is nowhere near a finished product yet.
I hope Jose will develop him to his maximum potential and be the best he can be.

I support Man Utd religiously and i still won't let that affect my judgement on Mikel Obi.
He wants to play for Chelsea and we should all respect his wishes as Nigerians.
If Theo Walcott was a Nigerian i am sure Arsenal fans will not be complaining this way but just because Obi is in Chelsea then its a big issue.
Why do we have so many Pharisees and Saducees(HYPOCRITES) in the Gooners camp?
Mikel will never regret joining Chelsea because he still gets to play despite the stiff competition he faces in the club.
I assume he is 15th best player @ Chelsea which is still remarkable for his age.

The answer is capital YES, i feel so sorry for Mikel because with the kind of Coach Mourinho is he will never be allowed to show what he has to offer for Chelsea because mourinhop need victory and he will never have time to build any players and never will Mourinho allow Mikel to play when the likes of Lampard, essien and ballack is fit even if they want to play any carling cup matches. But not withstand Mikel is a good player but he has just made the wrong decision by joining Chelsea, Mikel would have been honest to let us Know that he need money and not because he love Chelsea because they are Champion and indeed a good team, but i will be surprise if Mourinho allow Mikel to play 3mins if Chelsea are in need of a point lol Cry Cry Cry Cry sorry brother Mikel

what's up with yall, what does been nigerian have to do with anything and what does the fact that he is mikel have to do too, the truth as most of us know is that he made the wrong choice as player, the right choice financially (like okocha-dumass) and the right choice in terms of been noticed and endoresments but overall it was the wrong decision, its almost as stupid as owen's move to real madrid ( I know he aint there no more) peace  Cool

Man united would have been the better option for Mikel, kalou is even getting more game play than Mikel.
Mikel needs to play and shine, so that the whole world sees the talent in the young lad. Well i don't blame him, he wanted to pitch his tent with the CHAMPS. Chelsea aint going to have it easy this time around. Undecided
