Pastor Adeboye On Sex
« on: February 22, 2009, 03:32 PM »

I happen to pick up a copy of Pastor Adeboye's daily devotional guides for 2009 (can't remember the title) and stumbled on the daily lession for 9th Decemeber - Love, Sex and Marriage.  Amongst other things the pastor advises Christian as to the type of sexual act that is permissible in the eyes of God.  According the Pastor, oral and anal sex are supposed to be anathema in the eyes of God.  What to NLanders think about this piece of advice?   Is the Pastor right, or is he wrong?

I was really praying huxley was mistaken, but alas he isnt.

In the Open Heavens 2009 9th December 2009 titles:

Love making: An Act of Faith.

"As ordinary as eating and drinking is , you could offend God if you eat without faith-trust in God.in the same way , you could please or displease Him in the way  you make love to your spouse. For instance, a believer must not engage in oral or anal sex"

NB: I am only confirming it is written in the open heavens and highlighting  this should not be taken as being either in agreement or disagreement with the author.

Isn't it Songs of Solomon that says we should suckle on our lovers breast?

How can Adeboye say Oral sex is wrong. He needs to read his bible properly.  Grin

i have not read the part of the devotion which you have read but if the word of God says that those kind of sex are not right then i dont see a reason why we should make this an issue.you cant eat through the nose, you cant pii  through  your ears,so why have sex through unholy places? sex is made to be enjoyed just the way God  created it and if you are doing it the right way and with the right person you will enjoy it more than you expect.

Abeg, where in the bible does it say one cannot have oral sex? Shocked Does any bible basher out there know? Anyhow, what you do in the privacy of your bedroom is between you and your God. Afterall, it is still the same bible that considers sex as unclean or impure. Why don't we all just take a lifetime vow of chastity. That should solve everything by bring the world to an end due to a lack of procreation. Undecided

A further question is the following - Does the Pastor know whether any other parts of the human body is supposed to touch the genitals of one's sexual partner?  For instance, are one's fingers supposed to touch the genitals of one's partners?   Is one's breast supposed to touch the genitals of one's partner?  Is it OK for one to kiss the bellybutton of one's partner?

So you're so zealous that you prescribe rules for yourself even when they aren't in the Bible?

What a man and his wife do behind closed doors is no-one's business. Simple as that. Once you marry, everything becomes legalized.

The MAN OF GOD that is a GOD to a sizeable number of Nigerians has spoken and has declared that sex should involve no foreplay of any sorts and is to be done using a particular formation and tactic.

Those that worship him in flesh and truth should go ahead and keep to his commandments while those that think it's just an opinion of a mortal can disregard this 'command' and continue the good work that has kept them happy in the privacy of their bedrooms.

This is what makes me angry with Nigerian Christianity. As long as a man is still a man and not God he should never be referred as one. A man can err,no matter his status in Christianity but God can never. I'd advice the poster to study the bible rather than listen to a man.

@ poster, i am a bit puzzled how come in February u had already studied December of a daily devotional for "Christains". Well that suggest you are either confused on your stand or at best seeking the truth cos your inner man knows your stand is deemed for destruction.

I wont be found dead with an atheist material talkless more of reading it, its so puzzling the extent u guys are prepared to go. The truth is that it is not by force to be a christain you have rejected the message, to you there is no heaven or hell so what is your business with what is said in a purely christain book, after all no matter or whatever what the man says u wont believe it, u dont believe in God.

I wont attempt to respond to u, there is no use, how can u undastand the concept "LOVEMAKING: AN ACT OF FAITH" (and by the way that is the title) when u cannot undastand "For God so Loved the World".

How do u know that?, are u in the heart of a sizeable number of Nigerians at best that statement does not pass the common sense test, what particular formation or tactic did he suggest. Please tell as it seems u have read the devotional for yourself.

i think we should be careful of our choice & use of words. the things of God should not be handled with such levity.
@ poster this is not d right place for this topic but this i have to say:

Romans 15;22-23 states that if u have doubts about anything & u go ahead to do it, u r sinning if u go against your conscience.
Now on issues that are not stated in clear terms in the Bible u have to have your personal relationship with God to no wat he wants from u in relation to that topic.
The Bible states i Ephesians 3 21-33 that married couples r to love themselves with their bodies.

It cant be the same for everyone, just as some kneel to pray, some stand. ITS PERSONAL.
I stopped wearing sun-glasses cuz God asked me to(makes me highly unapproachable), it doesnt make it wrong for anyone else. GET IT
Lots of sermons are from a mixture of spiritual & personal views cuz it comes from God THROUGH an individual, it always has a speck of personal opinion vould be optional based on the topic & its biblical references.

If u care that much ask God.

Funnily enough, the Pastor did not said this was a personal issue and was therefore at the discretion of personal whims.   So it looks like this is a personal issue two levels removed - firstly the bible does not directly bars oral/anal sex, so it is a personal issue to christian couples.  Secondly,  the bars it directly, but there appears to still be room for personal maneouverings.

So what is the right way to have sex that is GOOD in the eyes of god?   Are the following allowed?

1)   Masturbation
2)   Mutual mastubation
3)   Vaginal Rear entry
4)   Sex during period
