My Kaspersy antivirus key expired, so I decided to check tech magazines to see which security  suite had the best results and symantec's norton internet security was tops. I now use norton internet security 2009 and I must say its great and lightweight unlike its predecessors. For all u kegen users, I seriously have pity on you, to think of the large amount of trojans/backdoors you have already invited to your pc.

Talk of anti virus i will strongly recommend McAfee. You can use any other one but please stay clear of Norton and AVG anti virus. They are the most useless ones in town. They are known for slowing down computers.

i think you should check out BitDefenfder. i had a virus recently that kapersky even while updated could noyt rectify, but this new anti-virus did it well.

just installed AVG 8.5 and its not bad at all, it even detects Downadup, that new virus causing chaos.the only downside is that it runs too many processes. bitdefender is quite ok too

nothing like best antivirus. different antibiotics for different ailments. different antivirus apps for different virus beefs. just use wht works in a given situation.

i don't use any though, tht's because i don't move about much on the net and those so called antivirus apps just mess up my keygens and cripple ma stuffs
no flash drives come near any of my boxes. no removeable media (except mine) get to have direct contact with my clean boxes.

well yesterday i was away from my laptop and a chic inserted a flash drive and double clicked the drive to open it, thereby ending my laptop's autorun-free life.
i'mma fix tht today. (with the help of some anti virus app, ofcourse. but after tht, they going off)

Tip: When opening flash drives or any removeable media, do  not open the drives directly. Explore the drive.

@mygee,
Avast is crap! It slows systems & allows alot of pop-ups!
Tho i feel any antiV is gud as long as ht can detect/remove threats & nt affect pc performance

using regtoy, or winbubble's security tools, you can disable autorun of removable media.

i use kaspersky (KIS 2009)

i used mcafee and norton in the past, and their older versions were major system hogs, mcafee in particular. i'd find myself uninstalling mcafee within 8 hours of installing it, it would literally take my cpu to 100 and freeze my system. i tried bit defender and experineced the same thing. this over two yeras ago, and i've been using kaspersky since. its possible that the new versions are better, and thats what some reviews claim. . .
