YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING  .Did you major in haematology if not then I repeat you do not know what you are saying. So you guys are studying for sickle cell carriers not to marry in other to wipe out the disease not for them not to marry AS or SS but AA no they should remain single because they were unfortunate to be born with the wrong gene through no fault of their own.  oladapsy, Hematology, also spelled haematology, is the branch of biology (physiology), pathology, clinical laboratory, internal medicine, and pediatrics that is concerned with the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases. Hermatology includes the study of etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of blood diseases. The lab work that goes into the study of blood is performed by a Medical Technologist. Blood diseases affect the production of blood and its components, such as blood cells, hemoglobin, blood proteins, the mechanism of coagulation, etc. I didn't make it a point to say they shouldn't marry,i said they could go on but limit kids, do you want the child to fall into dilemma just like the dad? adoption is a very good option,if she gets too much stress it's not too good, if anything happens to her,where is the love he is fighting for? Hey guy ,whatz the prob here? i dont see any @ all cos for these reasons - U luv her, U r AA, She has managed her crisis up to a marriageable age (assuming she,s more than 21)she has survived the worst, there r so many innovative drugs used in combatting this ailment etc. What u need to do is to consult with her personal physician and determine if she can carry babies 4 u but if not,u can adopt ,then go on with your life. Dont let her talk u out of marrying her cos of her SS statue cos that just mite be your one & only chance of happiness in this life. Whoever said SS can,t marry?  Na lie! Pls tell her to come off her self pity cos thatz the reason she,s discouraging you. As for family, pls follow your heart cos its your life & heart thatz involved. Goodluck Dearie. Cheers. |

my brother, have u seen a man who wants to build a house and does not sit to count the cost, its an expensive project u are embarking on, if u love her u may go ahead, but mind u she may have problems with pregnancy and other stress of life which u can handle but or how long, others ,though very few, have done it.living with an ss partner is horrible, count the cost

i had two brothers that were ss and it was not funny taking care of them especially during their crisis. my advice to you is to think of the future and see if you can take care of her when she is down. if so i think you should marry her because its only an AA that can marry her

I don't see why u really need advice. What u actually need is a sound warning. Bible say for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they 2 shall become one flesh. And bible still say and God caused adam to sleep and took a bone from him and made a woman to be his wife. So therefore the God who created her has prepared a husband to suit her condition. So if you know that your love no be in sickness and in health type then leave her alone for the one God has set for her. i understand the problem here.it is not about the Girl nor about the SS of a thing but about the people(family):that is even very worst than the sickle cell itself.But if u really love her go ahead marry her but try to protect her,dont expose her to hard work and limit baby too.
