sorry to be a spoil sport, but how on earth are we meant to comment on a league that doesn't have the required coverage to generate fan interest. to be truthful I get more info on the Australian A-league than i get on our "premier league".

@tkb417 thanks for your effort, but it goes beyond mere actions like this, these clubs need to make themselves attractive, and provide the necessary resources to sustain the interest they've generated. for example how many of these clubs have "standard" websites? I stumble on 3sc's website a couple of days ago, and I felt like crying.

Sharks is 4th! yippie!! The league is in shambles @tkb417 thanks for your effort, but it goes beyond mere actions like this, these clubs need to make themselves attractive, and provide the necessary resources to sustain the interest they've generated. for example how many of these clubs have "standard" websites? I stumble on 3sc's website a couple of days ago, and I felt like crying.
A visit to even sites of our federal ministries would show they are as terrible as they come. With all the webdesigners, I just wonder why we have these horrible looking sites all over the place.

their winning chances are really slim this season but they can still settle for a confederations cup ticket. their arch rivals heartland is 4 points ahead with 2 games at hand, and that sensational away win over rangers last weekend proves that they (heartland) really mean business.

why aren't they home based player on the super eagles list people criticized the German coach for not living in nigeria to watch nigerian players i cant believe the top goal scorers in the league cant even make it to the national team Just imagine if we have good PR in nigeria, most of those players will be earning good money the media should create our very own Beckham, Raul etc etc all from the league, the should get decent haircuts too! with all the money ogun state is pumping into gateway they are facing relegation week in week out!

Enyimba Smash Two Past Gombe UtdPosted: Sunday Mar 8th 2009 Ofem Inah and Ndukwe Uche An absolute screamer from Ofem Inah set Enyimba on course for a win before Ndukwe Uche put the cherry on top to see Enyimba maintain a firm grip on third spot with a 2-0 victory over Gombe United. In a game that began with Enyimba dictating the tempo, they went ahead in the 13th minute from a spectacular goal. 'Absolute Screamer' Right back Ofem Inah showed class when he rifled home an absolute screamer from 30 metres to put Enyimba ahead and grab his first goal for the club. Going ahead so early into the game, hopes of a goal feast were raised but that was not to be as several chances were spurned or dealt with by Ahmed Yusuf, in goal for Gombe. In the 26th minute however, Enyimba almost added a second when Henry Uche picked Bishop Onyeudo with a pin-point cross but the lad's header sailed inches off the cross bar to keep the scoreline at 1-0, going into the break. In the second period, Gombe United came out much improved but a Monday Osagie led defence provided enough cover for the home side. Swift counter attack But just after the hour mark, Enyimba had their second from a swift counter attack. Josiah Maduabuchi ( now you guys should watch this guy, Ive seen him play a couple of times and I even think he's better than Utaka) picked the ball from the centre, shook off his marker, then freed Osas Idehen down the right. The centre forward cut in and crossed the ball to an unmarked substitute Ndukwe Uche who gently tapped home to put the game beyond the visitors and seal a third straight victory for Enyimba. As the clock wound down, it was Enyimba who were finding all the spaces. Substitute Chinedu Ezimora went close with his fierce shot and Ndukwe Uche could easily have grabbed a brace when forced a save out of Ahmed Yusuf who was having a lot to do. 3 Straight Victories, 3 Clean Sheets As this win sees Enyimba extend their winning streak to three games, so too have their clean sheets, which they have maintained since the 1-0 win over Sharks FC. They remain on third spot with 44 points, six points behind leaders, Bayelsa United. from www.enyimbafc.net

Is it still possible to get away victories in the Nigerian league?? A pal told me away victories are so rare because referees are scared shitless of what home fans would do to em.

why is this thread not stick sef? very rare, Rangers Vs Heartland, 1-3 The former national team skipper also said his club are paying the price of poverty.
"Most of our away games are lost through penalties in the dying minutes of the game. They award penalties against us with two or three minutes to go.
"Last week in Gombe, a penalty was awarded for a non-existent foul outside the box. The referee picked up the ball and took it to the penalty spot.
"We have protested, but nothing has been done so far."
Ikhana's revelation led an investigation, but so far, the results of the panel have still not been made public.
There have been pockets of complaints about the standard of refereeing in Nigeria, and while the introduction of television has curbed blatant cheating, it has also shown up some clearly redoubtable incidents.
Gateway officials claimed after their league game in Warri that the match was unjustifiably allowed to stretch to over 110 minutes until a controversial penalty was awarded to the home team.

Heartland Beat the african rival AS Far 3-1 at home, a good advantage for second leg in Morocco Kano pillars played an away draw 1-1 against Senegal's AS daounes Gateway still no get better record since, just playing draw here and there with all the money OGD is spending making them look like a professional team they'll have to work harder and hope that commissioner of sport reduce his noise or he'll be snuffed out naija style NFF burgled $200,000, why was the money kept in the office? Erm apparently they are playing kalo kalo with fluctuating Bureau De change looking to take advantage or careful not to get burnt, you decide
