Enyimba just won't let it go,

http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=10026

Federation Cup champions Enyimba on Monday wrote to the NFF asking to be entered into next season's CAF Confederations Cup as League third place finishers.

The decision by Enyimba, following a board meeting last week, will be sure to embarrass the NFF, who stirred nationwide controversy by handing the slot to Warri Wolves ahead of Federation Cup runners-up Sharks.

Wolves finished fourth in the League.

Enyimba Media Officer Tonnex Chukwu was however quick to point out that the decision should not be seen in that light, "We are not trying to embarrass the NFF," he told KickOffNigeria.com.

"The situation is that the Enyimba board believes that we should be able to determine which route is best for us to enter the competition, and they decided to choose the League," Chukwu said.

MR. MODERATOR, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS LUCKIEST, I have to come back using this because I understand my "LUCKIEST" was blocked due to the companies advert I posted, I never knew I could be blocked for that this is because I have seen people sent in various kinds of ad in the past and nobody mentioned anything about them, A WARNING message would have been better. I hate violating any kind of law. The reason why i even posted that ad first on NAIRALAND was to ensure that my NAIRALAND people become the first set of people to benefit from my promo. But now I know better Please accept my appologies. before creating this new add I searched the nairaland website to see if I could at least send an apology letter but never find any medium to do so. sorry about everything (spamming).

MTN said they will never tough the nigerian football for a very long time, this is sad for football in this country, at least MTN opened up; but maybe the same reason why MTN distance themself is the same why other companies are not making effort to sponsor the clubs or partner the FA or NFL; we must do something about it

We remember what happened to Gulder some years back, our league alone can have the - the OFFICIAL BEER - 500Million, the Offical Beverage - 500Million, the Official Drink - 500Million, the Official Water 500Million, the KITS - 500Million, etc; I can go on an on, the league alone could have up to 10 sponsors and partner, bring a total sum of N10Billion or more every season.

its pure nonsense, but they all watch Ultimate Search in the North, they should not blame Sharia, its politics, or are they saying you can't find any form of alcoholic drink around the north. What they should discourage is the habbit of getting drunk. I have never tasted alcohol in my life yet will not say others shouldn't. Nigeria is a free state with evil leaders, we can get it right it is not rocket science; what Fashola is doing in Lagos is not magic, it is just common sense.

it is clear that those behind Sharia are criminals, becos if you visit Dubai or Qatar you will find out that it is only when it comes to Naija that they deceive us in the name of Islam; forget about that Yusuf of the Boko Haram, that one is just a common criminal, who be him maga, even taliban no send am message, the guy just need talibam money, he is a criminal pure and simple.

if they want to know what they call western technology, I will tell them; internet is a western but they use it to send mails to themselves, the road on which they move is western, the car, even the type of house the live, most of the medium they use in communication is western, the is just an idiot; not living a western life is like living in 14th century haba

HEARTLAND AND PILLARS GET GOOD RESULTS IN THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OVER THE WEEKEND

Heartland put their 2-0 loss to TP Mazembe, a fortnight ago, behind them and defeated Monomotapa of Zimbabwe 3-1 on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri in the second Grou B match of the CAF Champions League.

Ike ThankGod opened scoring for the Arugo outfit on the 3rd minute and on the 27th minute, Uche Agba scored the second goal while Ike Ibenegbu fired the winner for Heartland on the 46th minute. Dan Kamunnenga scored Monomotapa’s consolatory goal on the 47th minute.

Heartland coach, Kelechi Emeteole, explained shortly after the match that his wards bounced back to winning ways because they were motivated by the state government to give their best. "The players were on strike for two weeks due to non-payment of salaries and match bonuses but eventually they got it. That contributed immensely to why they played well and won," Emeteole said.
Elsewhere in Kano, Kano Pillars continued their impressive run in the CAF Champions League as they beat Sudanese side, El-Merriekh 3-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in the group A encounter on Saturday.

Nigeria’s only representative in the Confederation Cup, Bayelsa United, surprisingly lost at the Oghara Township Stadium 1-2 to visiting Stade Malien in their group game.
El Merriekh remain confident they can make it to the semi-finals of this year's CAF Champions League even after they lost 3-1 to Kano Pillars on Saturday in continuation of the continent's richest club competition.

The Sudanese club are bottom of the standings in Group A with a point from two matches, while Pillars are top with four points. Fellow Sudanese side Al Hilal are second on four points while Zesco are third.
"We are looking forward to our next match against Zesco United of Zambia, which will be at home," said El Merriekh coach, Mohamed Abdala.

"It was good for us that Al Hilal defeated Zesco in Khartoum and that will narrowed Zesco's chances in the competition. Had Zesco won, they would have made things difficult for us in Sudan.
"We will therefore do our best to beat Zesco and that will get us back into strong contention.
"Our group is open and difficult, but we have the ambition to qualify for the semi-finals particularly as we have done well internationally in the last two years.

"It is still early to pick the teams who will qualify. After the next round of matches, the picture will be a lot clearer."
Abdala told Goal.com that an early goal by El Merriekh would have given them victory over their Nigerian foes.

"It was a good performance by my team. We created many scoring chances but we failed to get an early goal. We know we are more experienced than this team and if we had scored early, it would have been a different story," he said.
"We conceded two goals from mistakes in the defence, but in the second half, we made changes and began to dominate. We then scored and would have even drawn level had our full back (Mosa El-Tayeb) not made a sill mistake to be sent off.

Competitiveness ------If you take time to watch the league, (look beyond the problems like bad pitches, harsh whether condition, lack of motivation and all  other psychological factors) you will agree with me that the league is more competitive. Imagine this coming season top teams commming to the league, Enyimba 3sc, Enyimba Kwara Utd, Enyimba Sharks Enyimba Dolphns , et al, tough matches dont you think? In Nigeria i can count top 8 teams, ts not even like England where you only talk of the first 4 and the rest second class, and third class "citizen" respectively.
we shld learn to appreciate what we have, and strive hard to take it to a greater hight. Thats why we need to begin to take interest in this Nigerian football, cuz its is the future of our national teams, i'll tell you a simple truth, i do not fancy Nigeria going to the world cup in 2010, let us look inward, imagine Spain, Italy, Brazil, Argentina,  Go check up their league thats why the "foreign based" in these aforementioned countries always feel "threatened" whenever there is a National teams Football matches and you see them rushing home because there are capable "home based" replacement for them.
We need to developed to that status, that way we'll be winning in several ways,
 (1) (good football league will bring about better infrastructural facilities,(so we wont be having problems when we want to host any FIFA, CAF tournaments like we are having now)
(2)Source of employment,----- i know Nigerian football league can "mop -up" nothing less than 40% of the jobless youth in Nigeria today.
(3) Foreign direct investment---- Ready made example is England, imagine how much Abramovich has sunk into England, and also The Man city owner. And who say it cant happen here in Nigeria?,  what we dont picture we can never feature in it. so let picture it and let us begin to work towards it in our own corner, in the place of prayer and also  newspaper publications, and i know one day God will hear our prayer and things will begin to change for better.
It is here in Nigeria that some of our Administrators/leaders, are just too myopic to see and picture a better future for us.
We're having Power supply problems now cuz at a point in time some of our leaders  failed to think that in some years to come (now) the present power generation (then) will not be sufficient, and see the problem its causing us now same goes to Infrastructures. Simply put our fathers have failed us woefully, but we the youth coming up now, we should not do things the way they did, we should stop complaining and get to work, lets get to fix Nigeria so that the generation coming after us will have a better Nigeria and we will definitely become an instant heroes
