AN INTERNET fraudster has been jailed for his part in a worldwide scam which saw
millions of pounds stolen from people’s bank accounts.
Adewale Taiwo (26), who worked as a process engineer at Grimley Smith Associates Ltd,
based in Brigg, was one of the ‘big players’ in the UK arm of the Dark Markets website – an
invitation only forum for criminals to buy and sell bank card details.
Taiwo obtained confidential online banking details from chat rooms and bank workers.
He then used the details to hack into personal accounts and transfer huge sums of money –
of which he took a percentage – to clients worldwide, angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry

While there are so many Nigerians who do not have good jobs overseas and are engaged in menial jobs, and are contented with what they have combining three or four jobs to make ends meet. Here is Taiwo who has a well paid job and yet engaged in internet fraud and contributed his quota, albeit negatively, in rubbing the name of Nigeria further in mud.

Good that he has bagged 5 years jail term but he should be deported immediately for him to serve his jail term in Nigeria, especially in Gashua, as all those prisons overseas are too comfortable and more like home to many of these criminals.

What a shame!!

Please get this right, if the fraud had been committed in Nigeria then your assertion might have been right but out there in UK, he is first
and foremost known as a Nigerian. That society would  not recognise him as Taiwo the son of Mr. & Mrs. Adewale.

which life? why should you all scan the www looking for more dirt to throw at nigeria, is the thrash we are flinging aroundhere not enough. Becasue the bloody bagger bears a nigerian name does not make him one, he doesn't live here and he hasn't transfered any of the cash here so why the hurried attachement.

Really sad story. He was my classmate in undergrad while in Nigeria. sad

The worst part is that he was employed, earning fairly good pay and still decided to go into fraud.

Yet another impediment to Nigerians getting employed abroad, even when qualified. What company wants it's name associated with corrupt practices?

@ blinx4real

The above info is for you and please pay attention to the bold prints. Secondly, as a Nigerian no one needs to tell you that the dude in that pic is a Nigerian.

Did he steal 0.0005% of what the fake investor Mardoff (sp?) and the recent one (I forgot his name now) stole in the US? If any one insults you on account of Nigerian thieves such as Taiwo, remind them of Mardoff and his likes.

What is wrong with Nigerians the world over?
One arrested in Canada with a "trucking business" and still scamming when many people would have prayed to even get a salaried job in Canada. Here is another one in the UK with a good pay and still scamming.
Corruption!
The C in our DNA structure!
And mediocrity is killing the Nigerian name by the moment.

Is that how to rationalize the effect of his crime on the Nigerian image?
Statements like this will never help us to change and see the bad as bad.

I cannot possibly rationalize what Taiwo did. Never. But when any one shoves down the "all Nigerians are corrupt" thrash in my face, then I will tell them to look in the mirror.

Well, I guess the mirror is cracked in this case; corruption at home, corruption abroad.

i was similarly shocked two years ago when i saw two of my friends in a wanted by EFCC ad in the papers. they were IT guys who defrauded FCMB . one of them badiru abidemi was a maths guru and my roomate ss3 when i was in js3. we were students at that er . . .gifted school. the guy was the best in maths in his class. he could probably have been anything he wanted to be undecided

really sad when people with gifts and abilities do these kind of things as there can be no excuse of poverty/condition etal

when one sees ones mates 'making it' one has to view it with a pinch of salt

Shame to the criminal,Taiwo.Five years jail term is not even enough. He deserves more than that for tarnishing Nigeria's image abroad. It's quite unfortune for Nigerians.

Bold or fine, the prints don't change my mind. The issue is why are Nigerians so hasty to claim everything; good or bad, the guy in question even though bears a nigerian name, lives abroad, contributes zero to the nigerian economy, zero to our political struggles, zero to our daily fight to stay alive and well in a nation with little help for its own. How come his bad behaviour must now contribute to our barrel of shame? Many nations around the world from Kenya to Japan and even our most humbkle country has laid claims to Obama, but never for once has he claimed any other nation apart from USA.
L&G pls wake up, it is high time we realise that belonging to a nation is a matter of where you have chosen and not a function of where ur papa came from

What a bloody bastard that Taiwo Adewale is. I am sure Kehinde will be somewhere crying in regrets for him. No wonder BNP are seriously crying that work should be given to UK citizens first rather than immigrants who are even qualified for the position.

Thank goodness, his IT manager at work detected him and made the information available to the police immediately. These days I am not fazed by the sheer wealth easily attributed to youth in our times. Yahoo Yahoo scams have become a logo with jobless and even some job-employed youths both in Nigeria and beyond.

Of recent, I came across this picture (see below) on facebook, and I am still trying to phantom, what kind of job the young boy in Nigeria did to accrue a car worth over £100,000 to his personality.

Na real wa 4 u.I dont even understand people again in Nigeria as a whole.Just because he took pictures with it does not mean he owns it.How u sure its not his uncle who works came to see his parents or something

Its not fair you taking someone pictures and insulting it without any proof.

Evidences are available on facebook. If you are on facebook, all you have to do, is search for ''Tunde Wear it all.'' I maybe wrong as you have alluded, but his comments on facebook about the pictures indicates that he is sole owner of the car.

Can you kindly tell me what assumptions, I have made? The guy clearly stated he was the owner of the car on his profile. Everyone who posted there, congratulated him in respect to buying the car. Here is the link, if you are interested: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30283641&id=1387436415#/album.php?aid=2016598&id=1387436415&ref=share

I simply stated here, I am wondering what kind of job, he is doing to have such a valuable car to his person? What assumption have I made?

And again, if you are anywhere near being a science student, you do know that science often times is based on assumption which are then analysed to become a fact. So I pray, what is your last statement about?

Furthermore, all what you have stated above, are ''your assumptions.'' Would I be right to say, you are not wise?

I remain wrong and subject to correction though if you can prove it so.
Re: Taiwo ! Another Big Shame To Nigeria ( Picture Attached ) by Skywalker5(m): 4:26pm On Feb 23, 2009
Bringing his pictures(tunde wears abi?) here is not an ideal thing. We are discussing fraud here and you pasting some else picture thats no one has proof of?You dont know what do does? You dont have proof he owns the car?

Its not ideal, from my own point of view

Topics like these are tired jare. As someone rightly said earlier, it's the C in our DNA.

The guy with the car looks like a babalawo. Are his eyes lined with kohl or something?
