Demi Moore 1989

Consider this the first commandment of Oscar dressing: No bike shorts on the red carpet. Ever.

Halle Berry 2002

Berry's gown proved the star-making power of Oscar's red carpet — not just for the actress, who garnered a few gasps along with the statuette for her Monster's Ball turn, but for Elie Saab whose demurely revealing design earned him a spot on the fashion map.

Grace Kelly 1955

Her sublime ice blue satin gown has since positioned the Best Actress winner (The Country Girl) as the fashion icon to beat.

Bjork 2001

Eight years after the Icelandic singer first walked the swan down the red carpet, the shock has finally subsided enough that some are starting to defend the avian attire. Not buying it. A fluffy white skirt is fine, but next time, please please please. . . .leave the beak at home.

Audrey Hepburn 1954

You can't have a conversation about Hollywood icons without mentioning the original gamine  Tongue, whose classic Givenchy gown made the night of her Roman Holiday win even more noteworthy.

Cate Blanchett 2007

No woman currently works the red carpet quite like Cate. She never lets any dress no matter how starry, brave or bold take over from her crucially chic, jaw-droppingly elegant style. Of the many outstanding creations she has worn to the Academy Awards none showed off her superstar quality (and fabulous body) quite like this silver crystal-mesh Giorgio Armani Privé mermaid gown. The collaboration of Armani and Blanchett (and futuristic-meets-classic bodycon trend) is a one-off, heaven on earth union.

Do you want me to borow you my goggles Shocked Shocked Shocked What is jaw-droppingly elegant about looking like a tin-foiled basted turkey trussed up ready to go into the oven Grin Anyway, what does one expect from someone who finds Siena's grey superman briefpata sexy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Kate Winslet wins it hands down so far, with Jennifer Aniston's dress coming a close second Cool What was Beyonce thinking with her mom's curtain or is it carpet Shocked

Apparently, it is busy body that needs the goggles.  Tongue
That Cate's gown is beautiful!!! There are some actresses that should never attempt the fake tan look e.g Tilda Swinton, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchet, Nicole Kidman etc. Why, you ask me? Tongue

Jessica Biel's gown was horrible on TV.
Viola Davis--> Such muscular boobs.
Jennifer Aniston should do something to her hair. It looked like something a 16 yr old would do.

Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, and Halle Berry were the best dressed.
