I And My Girl Friend Were Almost Stripped Naked Bythe Police Last Nite

the country is nothing but a lawless society. A country where anybody can just do what ever  to his fellow man in the course of wearing a police uniform. Well, thank your god they did'nt go beyond that.

It takes only God's intervention to deliver us from the hands of the evil one's in this country.

Is this really true?

Do the police act like that in Nigeria?

Do they treat vistors like that too?

What a lawless society

 

This is a classic example of why Nigerians should have the right to bear firearms. They will think twice about doing these things if they believe there may be repercussions such as the guy going home and coming back blasting away. Right now as it is, we just take whatever they dish out to us. Enough already, we have a right to protect ourselves if the government does not.

Come to festac town and you will know if they are really policemen or not.I have also been victimized in this way.I was coming out of the bank where i had gone to cash a check.At the exit, 5 of them were on me claiming to be on a stop and search mission.I presented my business id card,drivers license and even nigerian passport.Next thing, they wanted to know why i had 300k on me (imagine).To cut the story short, i think they felt i had gone to cash western union and wanted their share (Western union is now a crime in police dictionary).They took me into their vehicle, searched through all my phone numbers,text messages, took off my belt forcefully,my socks and shoes, all in broad daylight.Anybody living in amuwo odofin/Festac town will know this is not news.Go to Area E or festac police station and you will see all kinds of rubbish.There have been several instances where police shoot innocents coz dem carry big money especially in the evenings.So my friend, if you feel this is fiction, come to festac.From the gate, you will be searched, i promise you.

Hmm, Careful huh?Criminal profiling huh?I think you're watching too much C.S.I.I run a few business within festac and ijesha regions.I dress responsibly (corporate), i drive a camry 2.2 (Ugly duckling of a car with no rims or subwoofers in my boot, nothing flashy), i drive carefully and there's not "criminal" about the way i carry myself in public and yet, i still get pulled over and asked the most absurd questions ever.I take it you either reside in VGC or ikoyi where the police act more responsibly.You should go into lagos more and see things for yourself before you jump into conclusions coz you've abroad.For goodness sake, ludacris got pulled over 4 times on his way from the airport in jamaica before he got to his hotel.And that was nothing criminal with his entourage.Guy, things dey happen for 9ja.Get real.

 

I had my own experience with the Festac Police early 2007, i was with a friend in a small Nissan coupe Car though tinted. We were going to a hotel called Benny in 1st ave.

I didn't even see the commercial danfo bus parked not far from the Hotel but immediately we parked the car and where about to move to the entrance of the hotel on foot, they swooped on us with guns pointed at us shouting on top of their useless voices. We stopped and to my bewilderment they were about 8 of them on us with questions like ID card, what are you doing here and many more.

They took us near the Danfo and we gave them our passports they flipped the pages and saw the stamps on it but one of them said we looked like some people that snatched car along that street the previous week  .  That was really crazy and i was trying very much not to lose my temper when that fool made that comment and all hell went lose.

To cut the story short! I was a regular client of that hotel when it was very new, The security operatives and the director and the whole workers know me very well and that was simply what saved my ass from being taken to their station and then getting accused of Car hijacking. The gate man saw what was happening and alerted the director on the phone he came rushing with the mopol men and that was what saved my innocent self from the Nigeria police. Had it been i was coming to that very place for the first time and nobody knew me there, i would've been made to pay some heavy money to gain my freedom without committing a crime. Nigerian Police is simply Ridiculous.


Another one that happened in Enugu:

I was driving back home with a tokunbo Mitsubishi L300 van without seats at the back and with seat belt strapped (a rare something for a van driver in naija). A yellow fever guy that was directing the traffic stopped my side of the lane to give way supposedly for another line of cars coming out from another direction, But i stopped before getting to his stand to allow a woman and kid cross over and when i pulled closer to his stand a plain clothe police detective knocked on my door asking me to open the door and let him in and i requested his identity which he flashed to me. I called my lawyer brother that has a chamber just some few blocks away and he told me to go to the station with them and he came immediately

I asked for my crime and the answer was that a lot of vehicles (L300) like mine were stolen in the past weeks in Enugu

I gave them all the documents and they still wanted money because the vehicle was recently registered and some papers where not there . My ass was saved again because the Yellow fever guy happened to be my family friend and he didn't recognise me and i didn't even recognise him because he only did pull me over and his partner in plain clothe took over the deal.

He came to the station and saw my brother coming in too, he asked him what he came to do there and he told him i called because my van was pulled over and pointed to the van among many more impounded cars. He(yellow fever)  started begging my brother even before he told him what he did LoL. We settled the misunderstanding and i took them to a drinking joint and they were like we thought we had some money today but everything just spoiled.

Well i called my brother to make sure everything i did was official, even if i was to pay fine too.

We have no police anywhere in Nigeria

Once they carry that gun , they're something else !

 

There's nothing Nigerian police can't do to you, especially in Lagos, I was beaten and slapped many times by some police officers in April 2005. I was going to my travel agent to purchase a travel ticket for my trip to Europe; a police officer stopped me and demand to search my documents, at the end he claimed my bank statements were fake, I showed him my cheque book and even invite him to follow me to my bank which is just in front of us he refused and went ahead to slap me. I retaliated and before i know it about 4 of them were beating me, thanks to my travel agent who rescued me from them, she has to bring her sister who was also a police officer before they allow me to go.

Nigerian police are armed robbers in Uniform, if you don't believe it then wait for your turn of their special treatment
