I dont know about other banks in Naija and i HONESTLY dont have a problem with the 50 naira deduction for using the ATM. 1. ATM's cost money to buy, install, and maintain. 2. Banks need to make money like every other business. My problem with them was the 10k minimum balance which they've rectified. As a customer of almost 13 years, i get BIG stake for that bank so i can halla at them as i want. thats why i joined in Shouting "OLE, OLE!!" The fact is that majority of the customers dont like the 50 naira charge on the ATM, Personally, i dont even have ATM card,i have no use for it. so i dont care much about that. I suggest Intercontinental should ask customers withdrawing below 20k to use the ATM but i've seen someone withdrawing 2,500 naira from ATM and charging the person 50 naira for such withdrawal is not fair o.

Am sure you and your family members dont have more than 50,000.00 put together you can go to any Intercontinental ATM the machine will vomit your miserable 50k 4 u pele o sorry you cant do more than that ok very soon all una rumours go end whether you like am or not my sister got her pay and leave allowance yesterday and for your information she was able to withdraw the money no issues ok take your money and go elsewhere
For the rest of the house that want free ATM usage you can check first bank but the truth of the matter is they will join the train sooner or later but enjoy it while it last my friends Another one from Intercontinental bank. Isn't it obvious to you all nairalanders now? Anyway, to answer your stupid poverty stricken bastard who cannot survive without salary, my income from one single transaction from any of the three businesses I own will be enough to pay your salary and your whole family and relations put together for the rest of your entire existence on planet earth. You are just a complete fool. You want to trade words with me? Sorry for your life. I will run you down first before I finish with your greedy failing bank. You think its everybody that does not value money like a security seeking salary earner like you whose like will be destroyed after losing his job? If other banks that I have accounts with do not charge me any kobo for banking with them after the use of their ATM, while should I stay with your own IntercontinenThief Bank? Am a business man, every kobo counts, and that's why I will forever stay on top of your lineage. How much were you paid to come and make a post here? If you don't know its obvious to us all that you just registered to make this post like several of your colleagues who were mobilised to save their lives. NIGERIANS KEEP WITHDRAWING YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO RUN DOWN WITH THEM.

Hi guys,
I have carefully read most of the posts here and carefully conducted a personal research on this bank. I use this bank alongside three other banks in 9ja and i have confirmed that most of the people that posted negative comments here are just unfair to the bank (intercontinental bank) and our dear country -----I'm aware some banks also charge btw N50-N100 per ATM withdrawal. Most of the negative posts on this thread are over-bloated, exaggerated, and in some cases cannot be verified, the bank is not as bad as it is being represented here, I know of a relative that just took substantial loan from this bank. I do not think a distressed bank can give such a loan.
We need to realize that the economic meltdown is a global issue and we all seen how it is taking it's toll on most big orgs worldwide including big banks in US and Europe. Its only God that is still sustaining our economy and i wonder why some of us are attempting to destroy what God has done for us,
The absolute truth is that orgs need to take some measures to remain in business, and such can include, business re-strategize, lay-off, salary-cut, over-head reduction etc, I heard from an unconfirmed source that the bank want to cut salary, but if the MGT thinks that is necessary to keep them alive, i see nothing wrong in that, I am aware of other banks and so many organizations that have laid-off.
I have had causes to leave some banks due to unsatisfactory services, and i always believe it makes sense to do so as customer we have right of choice, but it's not good to pull others down,

LOOK AT THIS THREAT SENT BY INTERCONTINENTAL BANK TO A NAIRALANDER
Blogger Dayo Coker Receives Death Threats From Intercontinental Bank. « on: March 20, 2009, 08:42 PM » "I received a threatening email from Intercontinental Bank this morning. I'm still kind of shaken and I can't figure out if they are threatening a "Spiritual" or "Physical" attack. Why would a "healthy" bank threaten a "lowly" blogger for doing a public service? After all, the CBN is conducting a "Special Examination" of the bank. Well, if anything happens to me, I guess my wife and kids will know who to hold responsible. I plan to take this threat seriously. I won't be bullied. I remain an intrepid newshound. If every other staff of your bank had responded this way, maybe we would have been a little softer in our responses, but when you result to personal attack to your customers on a public forum, trust me you are doing yourselves more harm than good. I guess the heart of Nigerians should have been obvious to you now. You cannot afford not to satisfy customers or you will be out of business very soon. Nigeria is one country where customers get slapped a lot without being able to do anything about it. Its not only in the banking sector. Even telecoms and some other major sectors do slap us on the face a lot because they know Nigeria is sort of still backward and they can get away with their act. Thank God for seun for creating this forum. At least the people of our country can pay back a little from here What a wonderful and powerful forum. Telecoms it may be your turn next time.

Dont mind the bank, they dont even care about physically challenged people. I was at one of the bank's branches in Ibadan where someone with calliper was disallowed by their computer door from entring the bank. They better think twice before they start losing customers.

I havent read this thread from the beginning but people like you need to learn to abide by simple rules and regulations. The bank has a minimum deposit of N10,000. Your mom deposited N15000 and you're here shouting and raining curses because she wasnt allowed to withdraw more than N5000. Are you well? Or is it that you dont understand the meaning of minimum deposit?

Kazuya M, we meet again!
Why did you delete my response to your post? I bet you cant now since you didnt start this thread. Your action only confirmed by thoughts that you are a yahoo yahoo boy and that the wares you display for sale on Nairaland are bought online with stolen credit cards. Be wary as your doomsday for guillotining is nigh.
Talking about number of posts, its not the number that matters but the sense made per post after all most of your posts are just smileys.
I'm sure you will accuse me of being pro-Intercontinental bank, before you exude your infantile bravado; take a minute and go through my posts.
For the records, I am neither a customer nor a shareholder of the bank.

Only God will judge. If I am a Yahoo Yahoo Boy May Good Punish me and doom me to hell, if I am not my he do the same to you. AMEN!! You can say God forbid all you want. You are the one that started this. For your information. I deleted the thread, because Soludo is really friends with my dad, and I dont want him to get any ideas. Also, I am the creator of this topic Jin kazama and Kazuya are one and the same. Check the profiles of each, the information and pictures are the same. And what are you talking about deleting response to my post. It is not possible for a member of nairaland to delete posts of other members even if it is my topic. Only moderators can do that. A moderator must have found your post stupid or something. It is obvious you are new to nairaland. I dont talk to much. If a moderator found your post useless, that is non of my business. Finally, it seems you do not believe me when I tell you that I purchase items on ebay through my relatives living in the United States. You can check my profile on Facebook or hi5 if you want you will notice that almost my whole family are living in the US. Search for Utotomi Abalu. Thats all the evidence I have for now. AS FOR THE REMAINING NAIRALANDERS, lets get back to the topic, Intercontinental is Useless. MAITEMA, me and you can create a new topic and beef on that topic not here. We can even meet somewhere in Abuja if you like. What do you say, lets settle this once and for all The only thing I'm guilty of, is the same thing 90% of Nigerians are guilty of. And thats using an ungenuine copy of windows Can you blame us, how will I buy WIndows for 12,000 naira (I saw Windows Vista at the airport for 16,000) when it is available for 150.

Kazuya M,
Be reminded that the so called deleted thread is related to this topic and you were the originator therefore if it was deleted for any anomaly I suppose it is because of the stolen gadgets you displayed for sale.
What scores are you talking about? You are obviously not in my league. I WILL NOT indulge in such inanity as creating a topic to settle "scores" with you. I am too busy trying to fortify my business in face of the global economic downturn and rising $ against Naira . Moreover, it is obvious that you do not have responsibilities. When you have mouths to feed I believe you will gear your energy towards constructive and logical critisisms.

I should go and curse them out abi! First and foremost for your information; no 21st Century bank in a developed country, not in Nigeria ( developingunderdeveloped) would bounce on their customers with such inconsideration at this crucial moment when we're experiencing global financila crisis which has been a backlog of greed and inconsideration even in the so called developed country. This all boils down to the way banks are run in Nigeria as if they're the one offering eternal favour to their customers; and they end up splashing huge money on staff without straightening their operational functions in due manners. Check out how banking is done in a developed world; confirm carefully with genuine people, high school students i.e. School cert. holders are the ones employed to do this job, you can easily count how many staff works in a bank and no specialty attached; you get the best service you deserve at any point in time and when any goes wrong, they come begging asking how they can serve you better, that not excluding human lapses everywhere in the world, fyi, you versually do almost all your banking at home online, except when droping cheque whihc you can as well perform at most ATM around in less that few moments. So, it's not Intercontinental alone, but almost all of these so called big banks that we know all they're into is illegal money transfer, GOD PUNISH THEM AND THEIR FACILITATORS, I know we need to shake up every time these things happens so we could WAKE UP TO A NEW NIGERIA ONE DAY, for those who truthfully desire,

I don tire for this accusations and counter accusations. De-marketing Pull him down syndrome (abi na spirit) The fact is that there is global reccession and i know that no bank is safe. IBPLC, GTB, etc, even CBN, afterall the government of Czech republic crashed yesterday because of the recession, while some European countries have declared bankrupty. We should be happy that no bank has failed in Nigeria and we're just tackling this dollar issue(my major concern as a businessman) Since IBPLC has now told us again that minimum balance is now 1k, i'm ok. That was why we joined this thread in shouting Ole! "the best warriors are these two: TIME and PATIENCE" - chinese proverb time will tell, lets have patience
