Nigerian born Dr. Philip Emeagwali first entered the limelight in 1989 when he won the prestigious Gordon Bell Prize for his work with massively parallel computers. He programmed the Connection Machine to compute a world record 3.1 billion calculations per second using 65,536 processors to simulate oil reservoirs. With over 41 inventions submitted to the US. Patent and Trademark Office, Philip Emeagwali is making big waves in the supercomputer industry, amazing achievements only surpassed by an even more amazing life. I am pretty sure that this invention Contributed to the high speed DSL computer speed that just recently advanced the speed of internet usage, http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa111097.htm I have warned you to always research before posting. "Dr." Emeagwali has NO Phd degree, does not have "over 41" patents with the USPTO! He is making NO waves in the supercomputer indusry except as an egoistic charlatan! What amazing achievements are you ascribing to him? Prestigious Gordon Bell price? A price worth $1000 while the Turing price was worth $100,000? Did you know that the fastest computation that also won a Gordon Bell price at that time was 6Bn and not 3.1bn?

You are discrediting this man for his achievements and his contributions to the computer industry. If you are going to do that, supply the source or sources for where you got this information from. Other wise I will be inclined to keep thinking what I have always thought and that is, your just running your mouth for no real cause but to run your mouth. I get tired of hearing you just talk and talk but give no source to back up any of your claims. You are no one to be paying attention to at all. Where is your source? While you are at it trying to locate some sources, find some that will discredit white inventors as well. You do like to be fair right?

Please don't argue with davidylan on this issue. He's right. Emeagwali's claim is nothing but fraud and bogus. There are no documents to back his claims and he refused to acknowledge his critics call for interview.

@DavidylanYou went and got a link to discredit this man but you did not go and get a link to prove that the tribalism in Africa was always the way it is way before white people came into Africa. That lets me know you really didn't know what you were talking about and also, you never bothered to respond to that observation i made to you in that matter. I am checking out the links you supplied right now. @ynot@Sista

Even if it was white people, i could see why he would ignore them as well. His own people should have believed him and stuck by him. Also, to be frank he really doesn't owe anyone an explanation for his accomplishments. I don't see how something as big as that can be put out there and yet it is a lie. I am going to check the link and post my opinion.

1. I did not "discredit" the man! don't be silly, verify facts before posting! 2. Source on tribalism in Africa before the 17th century? More like asking me what color of dress people in 14th century yorubaland were wearing! I am checking out the links you supplied right now.
Sensible humans would have done this before going on another meaningless rant! If it was his own people who were the critics I can see why he would ignore them. Even if it was white people, i could see why he would ignore them as well. His own people should have believed him and stuck by him. Did you read those links at all before starting ur hate speech? The "accomplishments" you talk about are things you just copied off another website without thinking and you want us to believe they are credible with the amount of evidence against him? You do not have an oppinnion on this matter, you have been found wanting as an incorrigible liar!

2. Source on tribalism in Africa before the 17th century? More like asking me what color of dress people in 14th century yorubaland were wearing! Exactly! so why are you saying negative things happened then if you don't really know? You are a false profit. As far as you calling me a liar, we could both be considered liars within the context you speak of. I only looked for stuff that I had already read about to support what I had already knew. I could have furnished you with the titles of a few books but I know you would have not gone out of your way to acquire those books. So, I am a liar for finding links to support my previous readings and you are a liar for talking negative about Africa and it's people at a time when you were not even thought of, you weren't even existing at that time.

more musical chairs, bring it on buddy! Instead of admitting your error you go on about providing proof on tribal wars in Africa. I can't be bothered to quote history books for you, go and find out yourself. Your gaffe on Emeagwali shows u up for who you really are, a dumb individual who cannot be relied upon to provide accurate information beyond hurried copying and pasting from questionable websites to support frivolous claims and outright lies! If i did not take u up on Emeagwali, you'D have successfully gotten away with lying while attempting to sound knowledgeable! Stick to American history, at least i'm not likely to challenge you on that. but as long as you continue to peddle falsehood about a nation you know nothing about, we can continue our musical chairs!

Instead of admitting your error You might me tricking the idiots who are fool enough to believe you but you don't fool me at all. You absolutely no nothing about anything. You pick and choose what to play with and the only reason why you are picking on this Nigerian is because of his known history. I will be checking into his present which I am sure he is doing much better than you. Why don't you act like a man for once instead of acting like a messy female who enjoys keeping up mess with other women. Go find a man to argue with. Black and white are not one.
To think that they are is absolutely foolish.

It is a no wonder that Arabs and Europeans are known for their homosexuality, they have no respect for women
Sista, A man who does not 'respect' women is probably not a homosexual. It also depends upon what you consider respecting to be. Different cultures having different roles for the sexes and what they expect from them. Can you tell me in your own words why do you think that is and what is it all a product of? Certainly not geography alone. As you can see, Europeans had to come a long way to get to Africa and they had to encounter many other races and ethnic people before they got to Africa. Even if they took a short cut and came on a ship, they had to take a huge chance surviving on the ocean.
Europeans explored and mapped the whole world. It was about wealth, status, adventure, discovery, knowledge and power. It was about the birth of nations and how they desired to expand themselves and glorify their own people. It resulted in America - the worlds greatest nation which spread its wings and touched the surface of another world. It is why it says in the White House's guide to diplomatic etiquette that on meeting foreign dignitaries American Ambassadors must "shake hands but never bow, Americans bow to no one". It might all seem very arrogant to outsiders but that's how it is. No one has yet come up with a more powerful social, economic or military structure to rival the modern nation.

Evidently 'black' and 'white' are the same.
Within both are elements intent on playing up 'racial' differences that aren't actually there.
Both 'sides' choose to ignore the fact that there are billions of people the world over who would be classed as neither black nor white.

You can interpret things the way you wish, however, just because a black person is trying to keep the pass alive so that black people can recognize what is taking place in the present in hopes that we will know which direction to take for the present and the future - does not mean that one is promoting to hate whites for the love of blacks. Don't get me wrong, I don't see anything wrong with that Idea if that is what certain black people want to do, as long as they don't hurt anyone.
Black people need to learn to stop worrying about being fair to white people, we need to worrying about why we are not fair to each other. Does not mean we should disrespect white people or anyone else it just means not to go out of our way to be cordial with white people when we don't even go out of our way to be cordial with each other.

once heard a boy described his mixed race friend as diluted-confuse and have no culture. Is that so i will hold my comment. who ever said that to a person is sick sick sick. I don't care who does the mixing and how diluted they are. If the parents have their heads screwed on right that child will not be confused but will be confident in who they are. you will always get people like that . I don't give a fuk to be honest being mixed race does not make you confused, its down to the upbringing. Non of my cousins are confused. My cousin will speak pigin like nothin else and he is whiter than any mixed race kid i ever saw. He so identifies with both his cultures strongly. If you saw him you'D think he was white, but he has such a passion for his mothers race and his father's race and as an 18yr old i respect that kid so much, he has more sense than many 30somethings

A man who does not 'respect' women is probably not a homosexual. It also depends upon what you consider respecting to be. Different cultures having different roles for the sexes and what they expect from them.
Some things just aren't acceptable. Europeans during the dark ages would hang pregnant women on top of pincers. They did which hunts for women who they thought went against doctrine and would would burn them at the stake. They would sleep with little boys which was not cool but use young girls 14-16 only for procreation purposes. Arabs conducted women slave trade and some of the slaves they kept them in their own harem, probably the rebellious ones they wanted to break down.
It might all seem very arrogant to outsiders but that's how it is. No one has yet come up with a more powerful social, economic or military structure to rival the modern nation.
Europeans may have mapped the world because they always document what they plan to take over but thy were not the ones who first explored the world. There is much proof that suggest Africans were the first explorers. However, Africans didn't over stay their welcome when they explored.
When I come back, I plan on posting that proof.
