ATM Fraudster?
« on: March 12, 2009, 02:50 PM »

I got the e-mail below from a friend this afternoon.  I believe that apprehending this guy would go a long way in stopping these ATM frauds.

"The guy in the attached pictures is a specialist in ATM fraud . We need to smoke him out.

Do you know him ? Is he your customer ?

You may also circulate this among your friends in other Banks"

This is good, always wondered if ATM in Nigeria had hidden cameras. And how banks use the cameras to apprehend scammers.
This pic should be pasted on all Nigerian Newspaper. It wont be long be for he is apprehended.
Now scammer will understand they are no long scam proof!

I m sure someone on Nairaland would recognise this criminal. Other people's money have made him grown fat.

@ Walesman: have the police been notified?

Posting this kind of picture on an internet forum doesnt seem like the best way to handle the matter, imo.

Most people dont know this guy from adam, and are we simply to take your word for it that he's a criminal? Huh

@ SEUN & ALL NIRALANDERS!!! PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THIS MY POST MAKES A TOPIC AND GETS WELL CIRCULATED ALL OVER NIGERIA!!!, I WOKE UP TODAY VOWING TO START A LOUD CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE LATEST ATM SCAM STRATEGY TO WHICH I RECENTLY FELL A VICTIM.

NOW HEAR MY STORY!!
Two weeks ago, I was ion my office by 6pm, when I started getting text messages of debit alerts from my account with a certain bank I will not mention for now, each of debits of N20,000!! By the time I rushed downstairs to my car to check my ATM card in the lock which I thought had been stolen, I was terribly shocked to find my card in tact inside the wallet!!!
As all this was happenning, more text messages were comming in untill a total of N85,000 had been withdrawn, of course because there was only (90k in the account.
It took me 30 mins to get to the nearest branch somewhere in Lekki, with my ATM card only to verify that someone had used a clonned ATM card at far away Isolo to swipe me of my hard earned money!!!

For 2 weeks now, the bank has been in an endless investigation, (some of whose effort I appreciate anyway) and I went to the Zenith bank used in Isolo and they refused to give me the pictures of the thief on the grounds that it was against their policy to reveal such facts to individuals, that my banks audit team would liase with theirs to get the details,

this is so saaaaaad!!!!! I cant even see who stole my money, whose picture iswith the bank,at least, I can publish that on the paper and track down the criminal.

NOW, ANYWAY, THIS IS A PICTURE OF ANOTHER ATM PROFESSIONAL FRAUDSTER IN CARD CLONNING THAT I WAS PRIVILEGED TO GET FROM A BANK!!!
Guys, recognise this man, spread this picture, track him down, let him die!!
Find attatchment.

NB: Pls anyone that has any useful information on how I can sucessfully get my money back from the bank should please give me a piece of his mind.
Thanks.

The scammer must be staying around Ajah , along Lekki-Epe expressway.

From information I got from my friend that sent the mail to me, he said all the ATM frauds took place very late in the Night (between 10pm and 11pm)  at Ikota shopping complex , and at weekends too . So , it is likely he lives around that area.

They did not report the guy to the police , because previous cases that were reported to the Police turned into  endless circuses .

I have chosen to bring the guy's case here because I believe we can collectively do something. I know so many people who have lost money to these people.  There is need to get a scapegoat . Hopefully , he may lead us to the root.

any victimshd be allowed to see the security recorded data of the bank. such happened in ogbomoso and the real owner saw that it was a 'good' friend of his that collected 3,000 with a different atm card. that could help if the original owner could browse tru the cam. i wonder what technology will be older than an ungry nija thief. banks shd refund these stolen monies cos they gave us gurantee on their cheap secured atm cards. i'd beta dey keep my moni unda the rug than risk it in nija  Grin Grin ;Dbanks

How do they clone this card, does it mean they have the software that reads the other numbers that are invicible. U can't clone a card with just the 16 digit numbers itz imposible. There must be an inside job or they have that software that reads the tracks.

Itz too bad.

To clone your ATM card the fraudster need to have it in hand and pass it in a small reading machine. It can be done in 1 or 2 seconds.
Have you used your card in a restaurant or a shop to pay something recently?.Please try to remember, this detail is very important.
