Not very familiar with nigerian dignitaries, what difference does it make when they die. The people who mourn the dead are the relatives of the dead. What was stella obasanjo who I had never heard of before doing having an operation in a non english speaking country. I work as a doctor in the uk and I know a lot of top doctors in the uk and usa of nigerian origin. What is the full fact about this.

Let us not be quick in judging people.
She could have made a mistake or the other but then let's sympathise with the bereaved.
She had a reason for undergoing the surgery.

for undergoin a tummy tuck? she's 60, y would she want to have anything taken out or put in, i don't see any reason for that type of surgery. if it was something related to the eyes or the ears or somewhere reasonable, i would understand.

Everybody wants to be young even at old age, so I wouldn't blame her for going for that surgery. She is the wife of the President and doesn't deserve to be old, therefore what she wanted doing was not bad Roll Eyes

No G.p, we are only showing concern at her death. You cannot expect us to easily forget her, we have to share the pains so that it can be light on us Cry

I am back to the  topic.

Aiight.

May their soul rest in peace. I believe God has destined them that way. Who are we to question him?

God does not give bad destiny.
He has a good thought concerning us, a thought of peace and not of evil.
This is the work of dare devil.

Well, devil cannot destroy God's work unless God wants it that way. He created us in his own image. He wouldn't want his sculpture that he took time to mould to just get damaged by someone who never took part in the creation.

umm... back to the bellview crash,u guys are not going to believe this!!!
..... a group in the niger delta claims to be responsible!!!
according to thisday newspaper...............,

"Meanwhile, a group which calls itself the Coalition for Militant Action in the Niger Delta (COMA) yesterday claimed responsibility for the clash of the Bellview aircraft.
The group promised to attack government properties until Niger Delta militant Mujahid Asari Dokubo, on treason trial in an Abuja court is released.
In an unsigned statement, the group stated that "the crash in Oyo (the plane crashed in Lisa village, Ogun State) was not the expected outcome and was due to a failure of an installed deprogrammer aboard the aircraft."
However, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero told THISDAY in a telephone interview that "I have no knowledge of that or the group. I doubt if there is any truth in that. But we will find out."

I have told you guys that they better release this man. Terrost are not only found in Afghanistan and Iraq; these people can do more damages if time is not taken. Besides, Nigeria is no where in technology so I can't see any way we can raise little defence if they start firing. They have just started !!!

@drbig, i don't agree with u, i think they are just claiming responsibilty for claiming sake
and i don't see why dokubo should be released, the law should take its course

When you negotiate with terrorists, they usually get stronger.  Sad

Their claim is untrue and baseless.
They want to use this to scare us.
How were they responsible?

Look, this is the area I respect Tony and blair when their country men and women were captured by a terrorist group in Iraq.
Those people wanted Saddam hussien released and US military withdrawn.
Blair came out and said "we will not dialogue with terrorists"neither will we give up it's a battle to the finish.
This group can't hold all of us into ramsome.
They are not greater than this nation.
they should be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Methinks they just want to scare us. Firstly are they claiming responsibilty for Stella's death too since it happened same time.

But come to think of it. There were lots of dignitaries aboard that plane...and thats a catch for terrorists group. is this another al-qaeda under our nose? Who's their osama?

Re: Bellview Airplane Crashes After Taking Off From Lagos
« #120 on: October 26, 2005, 12:29 PM »

Their Osama might be Dokubo though I feel he is operating from the prison cage.
Anyways. you guys are right. If we give them any sign of acquiescence, we have opened door for more troubles.

But, I just beg they carry out more investigation.

It's just a mere noise.

Yeah. You are right.
But, what must have been behind the crash because it is very rare these days observing plane crash in Nigeria?

Re: Bellview Airplane Crashes After Taking Off From Lagos

Negligence on the part of the operators and govt. policy caused it all.
though we have not known and may never be briefed about the cause of the crash.
Because already the aviation minister prof. Aborishade has said the outcome of the findings will not be made known publicly.
Nonsence!

anything can cause a plane to crash

i've watched a documentary where a mere cellotape on a critical sensor cause a plane to go down

Re: Bellview Airplane Crashes After Taking Off From Lagos

Vizion, welcome I believe not your view that anything.
Yes! a mere cellotape, as you said.
Definitely not anything.
i will give an example: A passanger shouting inside a plane can't cause a crash.
And that's part of anything.

well, if you say anything considered hazardous and mechanical can cause a crash I will agree.
But to say anything without specification will be wrong.
"Anything" is broad and ambiguos.
