Hang on, you got the email asking you to do what, give your bank account?
What did they actually want in the mail?
were they sending you spy/malware , trojans?
Dont see how any such scam will work.
Anyway thats just my opinion

Corporate identity theft, basically.  Passing off.  And stealing content without your permission.

I wouldn't use the site. Why didn't they think of another unique name for their site, do they really have to copy nairalist's format to be successful? They're scammers and have no original thoughts of their own.

The fact that they are able to shamelessly steal someone else' corporate identity, and also attempt to steal traffic traffic by targeting all the users of Nairalist raises a lot of questions about their business ethics. It is obvious that whoever is behind the website has poor business ethics and will step on others to increase profits. I wouldn't want to patronise someone like that, because what stops them from stepping on me (their customer) in the bid to increase their profits when it comes to it?

Almost everyone online in Nigeria is quick to scream scam at the slightest opportunity. This should not be so. Investigate b4 spreading rumors. Contrary to what many Nigerians are meant to believe, there are a lot of genuine Nigerians in t6he business world. Only a few bad individuals spoil the bunch and most times its just sheer misunderstanding

Yes, those scammers are thieves right for their home. There are lots of Nigerians who work and make legitimate money online.

Corporate identity theft indeed,me think nairalist itself was copied from CRAIGLIST.com,even at that i do not support the actions of those nairalist+s guys, let them be creative and come up with their own thing

Nairalist borrowed ideas from Craigslist, but:
1)  Our front page layout is completely different from Craigslist's layout.
2)  We do not scrape posts from Craigslist to post on Nairalist.
3)  We did not call our site "Craigslists".
4)  We don't even target the same market.

This shameless copycat, on the other hand:
1)  Copies our unique front page laoyout.
2)  Scrapes our posts because no one posts there.
3)  Uses a name that can convince Nairalist users.
4)  Targets the exact same market: Nigerians.

So there is no comparison.  We borrowed ideas from Craigslist.  But Nairalist+s stole everything from us.

They are truly scammers for specifically targetting nairalist.com users.
