That is like comparing a toyota corolla with a Benz S Class. They are not in the same category.

The omnia is in the range of the Iphone and HTC's Touch.

do i owe you 1?

if you're unlucky enough to waste your money on one then you have my empathy, else suffice it to say i dont diss phones for no reason.

the laundry list is long but count dumb interface and cranky accelerometer as just samplings.

Funny how no one seems to talk about the Nokia N96 anymore. I have one in my possession and i'm desperately trying to sell it off.

I've used the Nokia 5800 and while it's got some cool features, it's a far cry from the 'iPhone Killer' it was supposed to be.

E71 a 'blackberry killer'?. Do you really think the keypad is all there is to a blackberry?

yessir! that and the cute name. else blackberry is seriously fuct up. its a fact that any phone i give out for free must be lame, and i just gave out my 8320 gratis to my youngest sis. granted its only a Curve, but even my bro hates his Bold.

the killer app had always been push emails; well the iphone pushes personal and corporate (via Exchange) mails without fiddling with that stupid BES Server. iphone is the only non-blackberry device that pushes yahoo mails. and its imap too.

your E71s etc do not push yahoo mails!

blackberry sucks. you cant even use the HTML browser without having a paid-for internet service (N5000 monthly from MTN). and there are no cracked apps on BB.

i hate.

can i haz iphone?

@Texazz

since Appulo went down taking Installous with it, Mega 4 Installer seems a better app. originally the author was asking for a one-off fee of $12, but now he's gone donationware.

the best news:

1. its free
2. comes with MI patch
3. works better than Installous
4. sleek UI
5. the apps are in a central server as against installous' linking to file servers!

Must confess i'd never heard of Mega4 installer before. Will try and grab it today.
Not sure about the push on Yahoo being an actual, real time 'push' service. Then again, there's so much i don't know Huh

The E71 looks cool, though. Looks like something i might get. Perhaps i can get a trade + cash on top deal with flyuche  Grin.
With the Appstore easily eclipsing N-Gage, any incentive i'd have had to hold on to the N96 seems to have evaporated. Not even remotely tempted by the 5800.

My HTC Tytn is back to life! Changed the screen and the keyboard now, so it's darn near perfect.

@tezz

darn right, iphone push isnt proper push. its real time but not instantaneous as in the blackberry. more like a server side "Fetch".

but really my mails arent really mission-critical so even a manual fetch is okay for me (ever used yahoo Go?) than having to fork out 5k every 30 days for the dubious pleasure of MTN's BlackBerry.

you right Appulo is back on, but after trying out Mega4.   .    .    <sigh>

E71 was made by the devil, avoid! somehow i find E66 a better phone even though its QWERTY-less.

TyTN? still slugging the old WinMO to within an inch of its unblessed life? was going through old stuff last week and dug up an N95 8gb and an old ipaq i never knew i had. sadly the ipaq doesnt turn on, the N95's acting crazy on account of some buttons short circuting. i registered on Nokia OVI; every Nokia owner ought to sign up at OVI. it kind of lends life to an old horse.   Grin

at least it gives you something else to do with your Nokia besides maliciously spreading Caribe.

Emails is what made the blackberry its name today just as ease of use made nokia its rep. On this case, i wouldnt get a blackberry with an e71 sitting next to it. C'mon, we jst want the basic tasks.wat the hell is my biz with push and unpush.my email is just retrievable whenever i log on to yahoo or gmail.i think that is cool with me so far.
I think i will have to try some other phone os also like the touchscreen microsofts but i jst get scared of touchscreens and find comfort in traditional buttons. Is it just me or what?in the meantym, my e71 rocks
