Really you don't know who has made it big in the cybercafe business from what you see from the outside. The fact that they have a good setup may not actually mean that they have done so with the revenue they get from the business itself. I'll still want to  say that in cybercafe business you need to invest in the best or forget that the business will last. you can also check out this folks http://www.coollink.us/cybercafe.html . But then you should think of adding some unconventional businesses too like berbecue joint , gaming centre, resource centre and stuffs like that. You can start small butdonot manage equipment. Good luck

cool link sucks!!! they run cool cafe in Abuja. for all their adverts on cool fm abuja (cool link, cool cafe and cool fm are owned by the same people) about how super and great they are when you actually visit the place you have to bear with the slow speed surfing most of the time...i mean most of the time and they charge alot. for Christ sake there are alot of smaller cafes out there with browsing speeds faster than at cool cafe. i don't give a f*ck how sophisticated your cafe is with an AC, music, eating spot etc if your your browsing speed is slow you're not worthy to be running a cafe! the annoying thing is the adverts go on 24-7 so visitors to the FCT naturally end up going their only to not enjoy the browsing and curse the day lights out fo Nigeria.

from my cool cafe experiences cool link is definately out of it for me when i'll start considering getting connected at home.

Seye I hope You heard Trae's xperience with cool cafe SPEEED!!!  so that's very essential to work on. high speed is  the goal not the means of connectivity. stay cool

plz never make use of KOOCHI COMMUNICATOINS as an ISP. They are very inefficient and will never listen to you once u have a problem. They are very selfish and will laugh at you once yoiur system has a problem. i was one of their clients but they just messed me up. PLZ DONT TRY KOOCHI AT ALL. Learn from the mistake most of us have made. they are owing me bandwidth but they are now asking me to pay more dollars for get me on again

HI Guys, well to make a short story of this issue i can set you up an Fully active cafe with just =N=280,000 Link and 10systems of PIII with 5web cams Smiley how? very easy like reading ABC in the university
well, let's get down

the total cost for equipment and installations is @ =N=150,000
the cost of 10 PIII systems is @=N=13,000
and Five(5) web cam @ =N= 2,000
total =  =N=280,000

I use what they call Wireless Broad Band technology! very High speed guaranteed it's better than V-sat and other old radio Technologies

in fact you can test the speed of Cyber cafe links around with this site (http://starz.real.com/partners/starz/index.html )  then record what you got and then come and test it on my cafes ( i maintain and manage 3cafes and no alarm at all Kiss Cool)

the difference is like Nitel land line compared to GSM not any kind of Gsm oh! yes oh!! MTN GSM 4real omo gba be

in fact you may email for more info and i will tell you more, or come and see my Cafes and see it all by yourself when coming come with an expact

the only problem my kind of link has is (GPN) General Problem of NEPA, Embarrassed  aside NEPA wahala abi na them be Power Holding Company Shocked Huh, if they don't hold your power down, then you have no problem 24/7 this ISP has been on for 5years now and has been giving there services to banks only until recently they stated given to individuals like us, since the to God be the glory!!!

Since holy ghost(make I use small letters abi) would not answer us anymore may be I should answer @Tezdor he wants to know specs of PCs good for a cafe.
Just imagine that all possible sorts of actions will be performed with your pcs by dear customers. So I feel you should go for a PIII 600mhz and above with 128RAM.  That's what I feel should be the minimum sha if you want to go for P4 Go na you sabi that one. peace

We consult for Cafes and general internet businesses. You can contact me for a detailed business plan preparation or alternatively there are available sample business plans of cafes already operational.

My advice is that Cafe business is not like other business, so if you don't do a proper ground work, forget it, don't even venture into it. Running a cafe without adequate business plan is same as RISK MANAGEMENT. Consult the experts

From an in-law of mine who sets up cafes for a living, he says they are no longer as lucrative as they once were, especially due to lack of electricity which means higher fuel costs for a generator.  Also, most owners refuse to practice prevention (for example, don't see the need to install anti-virus software until after they get bitten by a bug).

In my opinion, and from my last visit, most cafes have taken this stance, cafes need to move beyond the generic cafe model - internet services, phone services and business center services.  Rather, they need to move into other areas which in the end may provide more income than the cafes themselves.  These include, but are not limited to:

- Food (drinks, snacks, etc)
- Video games
- Clothes
- Phone cards

As always, my 2 cents Smiley

All internet cafes have one thing in common -
they offer an Internet connection from their computers
to their customers.

In addition to the basic Web connection,
many cafes offer much more.

You have to sit down and think of
what you want your cafe to look like -
the location, ISP, Hardware, software, etc.
Wish you all the best !

My dear Brother, to set up a cerby cafe business a lot of things are involves and you have to put them into consideration, otherwise.
such as, the location, the method of subscription, isp, software and hardware and most importantly u need a capable hand to handle it if u are not expert

Hi Room,
Don't just jump into Cafe business because people are making money from it,it doesn't work like that.
Make sure you have an expert that you can trust if you are not one yourself, because of some occurance during the running of the place.
Everybody go into business to make money,so don't invest what you can't make.most people will tell you to go for VSAT,Get new systems and so on,it's all a wrong way to start.you will just end up spending more and earning less. All the one Mr Holyghost is professing,i don't know about that o,cause you will push so many people into  problems and leave them with it.

These are what you need!!!

-You need a good location for your cafe
-A good internet connection(wireless)
-Condusive Environment
-Furnitures
-Electrification and Stabilizers
-Networking & Switch
-Good Systems
-Softwares and Good installations
-Printer and Other Business Centre Equipment
-UPS and Good GENERATOR
-Air Conditioners
-Good Timer software
-FAX machine and so on
- It keeps going on,so you really need an expert.

You can get me through mail on obafemzy@yahoo.com or 08038087708
Cheers
