well i also just opened up a cybercafe, and business centre in my present office. to take better advantage of my office space, right now i just subscribed to iwayafrica, for 300kbps, before now i was getting service via radio from a local ISP around. i discovered that there was actually more money in being an ISP, than running a Cafe, you then can give to home, office users, and even other smaller cafes. in my cafe i have two broad sections general cafe and executive cafe. in the executive section there is a bar, i also have a water dispenser there. i want to also get a television very soon. instead of using only generator, i also plan to get an inverter, which seems cheaper to run, ALL systems are a minimum of 256mb, the systems in the executive section are a minimum of 256mb, with 1Ghz processor speed, P111.

well you did well but tell us how many systems you have at the two sections

and how much you charge your costumers for browsing
tell us how much you pay to your Isp to set you up and what bandwith are subscribing for

and how much you pay b or quarterly as the case may be to your Isp

and them be honest to tell us how much you make a day and a week and b please we need these figures now!!!

because i believe from the post above there is no chance of making any profit

@ holyghost,

i think your systems are very basic, very very basic infact and i think that, contrary to your impression, waffistyle will break even and even make profit because he will build a sure clientèle as he progresses especially after solving the power issue with the use of his inverter (which surprisingly i have had nobody speak of thus far, won't want to imagine we're all that in love with PHCN) .

people are after speed in a conducive environment and some want their sense of vanities and exclusiveness to be pandered and catered to along with that, he has gone far enough to differentiate his clientele even in such a tightly segmented market  plus he is based in Warri, haba? No try the guy o!

@ WaffiStyle, well done my brother, keep up the Value Added Service, just don't forget to keep diversifying because this cafe cafe talk of a thing may very well have not more than a 5 - 8 yr lifespan anymore, even in naija, so just keep your eyez peeled brodaz and git that money! while it lasts!!!

anyway it is inexpensive and expensxive depending on the type and the number of system you want to use. presently i want to set up a cafe too. the equipment costs about N180,000 and the subscription for 128Mb/256Mb bandwith costs 145 per month. you will have to pay three months first and each month there after. If you choose iwayafrica (www.iwayafrica.com) Getachus(www.getachus.net) you can also check Raz Resources (www.razresources.com) or (www.globaltt.com). You will definitely get information about the cost implications expecially from getachus.

For other enquiries you sent e-mail to those and info@directonpc.com

Guy, I strongly advice you to go for another reliable business instead of planning to invest on Cybercafe

More people are becoming to get connected in their various homes, so few people patronizes cybercafe because of embarrasement from EFCC and Nigeria Police Force (NPF)

please don't try it
