Yes it was the most painful experience of my life but it doesn't last more than a few hours.
I didn't have any pain relief because I left it too late, but the good news is that I forgot about the pain immediately I saw my beautiful daughter and all that pain is now a figment of my imagination.
I think if you are managed properly with good pain relief it shouldn't be too bad.
Avoid C/S if you can - I suffered more pain with my C/S than with my normal delivery.

Yes it is painful, but the pains go off immediately after the arrival of the beautiful baby.
Not to worry, you need not fear it is just for a few hours and all will be a forgotten issue.
I dont pray for C/S not even for my enemy it is never the best.

Childbirth is painful but NOT the most painful thing.some "knacking positions" are more painful.rofl The good thing abt the pains is that it quickly disappears the moment you hear the sound of your baby crying.lol

Depends on your pain threshold. Mine seems to be high as I didn't find it too bad. Just like Period pain except it's more intense and constant as you get closer to delivery. Saying that, I had pethidine + Gas & Air and labour was 4 hours. My sisters who were with me didn't believe it as I am the Tinuke in my family! But like other posters have said, once you've had the child, you forget the pain- assuming straight forward delivery, hence go on to have another! The 9 months of pregnancy is worse than delivery itself as one doesn't know when the discomforts would stop. At least with delivery it shouldn't be more than 3 or so days before there's medical intervention! Unfortunately I had 2nd degree tear and spent 10 weeks recovering but still not as bad as being pregnant! Nothing to be scared of sisters; I'm pregnant with my 2nd one now and would never have done it again if it was that bad.

Is Childbirth Really The Most Painful Thing Or Is It Exaggerated?
~Thats for Us to know & for You to find out!
~It's different for Every woman . . . .Some Give birth with Ease,Some have Difficult births . . .I suppose how painful, really depends on each individual experience of pain. . .No Exaggeration there!!
~I hear it different w/ every child too as in 2nd/3rd time around preggers!

the pain varies depending on the woman, some women have it easy, while for others it is not something they can describe.
depending on where you reside, whenever it is your time you can always opt for epidural, it is the best choice, no pain at all ( now who wouldn't want that?)
my friend when she was pregnant she had epidural, and she was watching the movie Home alone, and she didn't know when the baby popped out!

Still some people still experienced a lot of pain even with 2 or 3 doses of large amount of epidural,it depends on individual pain threshold, And some will have it and fell so numb they will not be able to push.My advise is for the poster to go for birth classes, review all the options avaiables for yuo to deal with the pain, choose the one that suites you and the baby most, good luck.

If it is so painful, how could some women deliver their babies alone, bundle them into the dusbin and abandon them by the roadside, alone?
