Should Amodu Shuaibu Be Sacked? by visionsen(m): 4:07pm On Apr 01, 2009
For failing to defeat the minors Mozambique in the first match of the last phase for qualifying 2010 world cup in South Africa. Should Amodu be sacked to avoid more set back ?.

Jarus,
sacking him is one thing, who is next is another thing and if possible, a more important issue.
maybe sacking him will bring back onigbinde or obj can come and take over the national team as a coach so nigerians shld be mindful of who is next before taking any action.
again, we have to think about the clauses of the contract. it is assumed that his employees must have given him target. who knows if not allowing the eagles to be defeated is a condition so a draw is a good dame under such contracts.
there are some clauses in contracts like this that can put the coach in a better position if sacked than when he maintains his job.
look at the chelsea sacking of mourinho.

@tayoccu,

are u ok? who is that no 2 on r list? did u not read in the news where he said he wants to be in nollywood?
everybody in nigeria is fit to be the coach except ur onigbinde. do u know that fifa was going to penalise nigeria for using a traditional\native doctor for a coach?

i can accept obj, pete edochie, asari dokubo or even peter odili for a replacement but pls do not mention that onigbinde again.

what happened to everyother nigeria? what about 2 face and d banj or p square?
Re: Should Amodu Shuaibu Be Sacked? by Nobody: 12:52pm On Apr 07, 2009
To start with,Amodu isn't competent enough to handle the Eagles. That much is evident. But the truth is,we have to live with our choice because it's too late to make any changes.
This Tunisia squad isn't likely to slip up on the road against Mozambique. So the only way is to beat them here, beat Kenya away and not lose in Tunis.Assuming we win all our other games.
Seems rather straightforward, but I do not trust Amodu to do the job.Not from what I saw in Mozambique.

Amodu should be sent packing as quick as possible. He has no tactis.

Re: Should Amodu Shuaibu Be Sacked? by chidichris(m): 3:05pm On Apr 13, 2009

Are you using age as your criteria?

Bora? Iraq's manager? shocked shocked shocked

Remember it was Amodu that qualified us for France 98
after Bonfrere had almost bungled the qualifiers. It was Amodu's
rescue mission that took us to France.

Amodu surely wasnt the best choice when he was employed but
I think we should stick with him all the way.

Anybody can draw with anyone at anytime. Its the end of the
whole thing that matters. Not one match.

Bolivia hammered Argentina 6-1 and everyone said it was the
altitude. There was high altitude in maputo as well remember?
Re: Should Amodu Shuaibu Be Sacked? by goldengoal(m): 5:23am On Apr 16, 2009
Friends,

With what we saw in Maputo and how our Super Eagles(or do i say super chickens) played and fumbled against the Mambas of Mozambique in Maputo, do you actually think that Coach Amodu Shuiabu is competent/good enough to lead the eagles to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, especially going by the fact that Amodu was totally BEREFT of ideas in Maputo and didn't just know what to do.

For me, I think he is not good enough. We need a better COACH. It is either we go for a good and expereinced foreign manager or a better local alternative.

Only these three local coaches should in my own opinion be considered:

Siasia, Keshi (even though he is with Mali, good money and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to coach the Eagles will make him accept) and Onigbinde in that order.

What do you think?

There is always an excuse for failure. Why didn't they go and train
in Jos to get used to the high altitude-as if that was even a factor?

failure to win the first match should not b Shuaibu alone but the whole technical crew. Sack or change of the crew is not too late but is it right. me think not necessary
