Casual Nollywood Watchers
« on: April 02, 2009, 09:28 PM »

I've been watching some Nollywood videos of recent and i must say they are really quite nice:
Stuff i noticed -

1. Good story lines but generally poor endings.
2. Kanayo O. Kanayo and Bob Manuel Udokwu are the 2 best male actors.
3. Only bother watching movies by Emem Isong and Lancelot Imasuen
4. It seems to be mainly igbos from begining to the end!  Shocked
5. "Moment of truth" has to be the best movie i've seen so far!

I'll take your Moment of Truth and raise you Modupe Temi. . . now that was a gooooooooooooooood movie.  Grin

KOK is still acting? Oh Please tell me he's acting fatherly parts not homeboy feeling funky in dungarees and side face cap parts like RMD. Angry

A Nollywood movie is not over until the Pastor says "Amen"

Emem Isong's movies tend to sympathize with females, what a surprise you'd like them

I watched Reloaded a few days back. Not bad cept Uche Jumbo was unnecessary.

I almost downloaded "reloaded" but thot against it as some said it was basically a repeat of games men played.
Was it good?

Not for me. I think Sam Dede and Obi Okoli are the best.

Distance Between starring: Rita Dominic ,Kalu Ikeagwu,Yemi Blaq,Mercy Johnson,Ashley Nwosu  and Kassandra Odita. A very superb movie. Also look for Tunde Kelani's narrow path. Check out Izu Ojukwu's works like Sitanda ,Across The Niger,Shut In, Laviva etc. Tchidi chikere is another good movie maker.

You can get "distance between" on http://movies.ghananation.com/
Go to the "Select a movie" bar and scroll down (do it faster by typing "D").

I watched a brief excerpt but i havent seen anything to excite me yet.

I used to download on onlinenigeria.com but they've disabled the option now . . . your best bet is to get the videos via youtube or buy a subscription at www.izognmovies.com . . . not too expensive.

Spikey, sorry the problem must be your internet connection speed.

thanks for the suggestions, iReport.

@bold, acts like he's gay to me. I'd rather go for Obi Okoli, Antar Laniyan, Chet Anekwe,Jayke Aernan(damn, he's so sexy) and Zachee orji. there are loads of others too. Olu Jacobs seems to be in 9 out of every 10 nollywood movies now, what's up with that?. Is he looking for retirement money or what?

I get my movie list here and head to online Nigeria to watch them.

Darn! This speed must be a racist! I mean, it allows me watch all other videos on youtube just fine but the moment "Letters to a Stranger" comes on, it begins to discriminate. You are so right Dave, darn connection.
