East African Girls Are Overrated

I've noticed that many people love to say East African girls are the most beautiful in African when ALL countries in Africa have beautiful women. I'm not surprised people choose the Africans who are mixed with Arab blood and tend to be closer to European features. Like all other africans, east africans do have pretty girls, but they have plenty of not so good looking ones as well. There are many in my school and only one of them i could say is very pretty. On average, they are not  better looking than other africans. I cannot stand this colonial mindset many africans have. They love any thing with light skin. No wonder half of african women have bleached skin. What do you think?No stupid racist comments please.

Says who?! I have one Eastern African girl, I prefer to term us as "just friends". She is hot! hot!! hot!!!. Her parents are originally from Eritrea but she is African American. Bone Rita! I love her.

Some people love anything with dark skin and it is what they prefer, but you will never find the light-skinned sisters having a problem with that. It's just a preference. So nene1, if there are people who have a preference for light skin, don't get worked up over it because there is nothing you can do about it to change what they fancy. Your insecurity will work against you.

Nene, most East African girls I have seen are not light skinned at all. Judging by what I hear,men tend to like their features and the way they carry themselves. That goes for all their shades.

Seriously, you are criticising preferences, just because you feel insecure, simple. If you are not careful, you will make some women your enemy just because of how they look. They are African women, you should not try to bring them down just because you dont look like them.

You started off this thread like you really dont see their beauty and all the "fuss" about them, but really the truth is you cant handle the fuss about them, thats a different issue.

There are men who prefer the way you look over a stereotypical East African lady, be concerned with those men only. The other men are none of your business.

Light skinned women know that many men prefer darker skinned women. Most are not bothered at all.

@nene, judging from this thread you created, stillwaters made the correct observation. You do seem to have an inferiority complex over it. I do understand where it stems from, but  many men are repelled by females who are insecure.

Try to get past the issue, you are doing yourself no favours ok hun.

@topic. . .they were never rated highly in the first place, so how can they be overrated?. The few Somalians I've met were nothing special. . they just have big booty, which is peculiar to most African women anyway. Honestly, I dislike their skin color, it's not really light even, just this weird color like they're anemic. 

@poster, I kinda get your point(not the one about east african girls but light-skinned girls in general), you're probably right but why make it your problem?. . .you're beautiful if you're beautiful and like Stillwater said, you need no man to tell you that. But either way, I'm sure there are plenty men who love dark-skinned ladies. focus on those ones.

Well out of all the East Africans(Horn of African (people make it specific)), anyway the ones I HAVE SEEN, i'll say they are overrated.  The ones I HAVE SEEN look alright, nothing special. The models, etc look beautiful as hell but the ordinary people i've seen in my school look okay.  So i do agree, they are overratted.  Hell, when i began going to my school, i had this believe that all Horn of Africans look exotic or something like that.  when i started meeting them and being friends with some, i notice there really isn't anything special looking about them except their hair.  Everything else look okay, the prettiest Horn of African i've meet is Ethiopian and she isn't lightskin but darkskin (from what i've seen, alot of boys like her, so i don't think they are obessed with lightskin like you said nene1), anyway compared to other individuals i've met, she look way way better.  I don't know, it's just i held them in such a high pedestal and it fell when i started seeing them.  Oh well, my mother said there are alot of beautiful ones in their country, so maybe we just had to travel to Horn of Africa before we see the beauty.

Anyway, from what i've noticed, when people say East Africans they usually mean Horn of Africa.  Why is that?  You know there are other African country in East Africa. 
One country i'll say have alot of beautiful people are Tanzania's because the ones i've met in my school are beautiful.  I've always wondered why noone includes them when talking about East African beauty.  Last time i checked, Tanzania do not look mix. 
Well based on my experience, i'll say it depend i guess.
Just like every region, they have beautiful, ugly and okay looking people.

East-Africa comprises of many countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi and Zanzibar (secession from Tanzania). But I think the poster (nene1) was referring to the Cushitic lot, i.e. Ethiopians, Djiboutis, Eritreans and Somalis. If you say that these girls are over-rated, you can't be more wrong and it's not about their skin tone, because they have a variety of skin tones (yellow, golden brown, chocolate brown, mahogany and some ebony). They are S I M P L Y  B E A U T I F U L. It's about their facial structures, i.e.:
- Naturally high cheek bones
- Smooth skin - I swear you will never see these girls with pimples
- Naturally long eye-lashes
- Shapely lips

You realize that other women require some make-up assistance to acquire the above look, i.e.:
- Cheek blush
- Foundation and concealer
- Mascara
- Lip liner

These Cushitic women can wake up in the morning, apply nothing onto their faces and will still have heads turning, so I do not think that they are overrated at all. Another thing, when you say a country has beautiful women, it does not mean that you will not find ugly women there, it simply means that it is easier to bump into a beautiful woman as compared to an ugly one. Having said that however, I'd like to tell 'poster' that apart from the women she has in mind as East-Africans, there are other women that are also extremely beautiful but do not necessarily have the above mentioned look. Pay a visit to Rwanda and you will see plenty of drop-dead gorgeous women (and men too!) and as somebody mentioned, Tanzania too. Tanzanians have very many good-looking and shapely women. You will lose count of them if you were to keep tab of the beautiful women in that country. So, I still think that East-Africa has a fair share of beautiful women.
