drs with god complex, a nuclear error. am still reeling from my association with one. it ended in a tragedy. a life was lost . so many avoidable deaths and so rare the opprtunities of avoiding them. i feel the need for a more active medicare supervisory body especially in terms of abilities and capabilities. so many self titled practitioners without the prerequisite qualifications and experience. an ignoramus suddenly becomes a genius wuth just the right connections and financial backing. egomaniacs without cause but a lot of detrimental effects. a good medical practitioner is one who listens and never patronises the patient. humility is basically a permanent overcoat and a priority is believing in the awesomeness of that person right infront of you who is also human and has the same desire and dreams as you do; that is: to experince life at it's fullests.
I am a Dr myself and I am very disgusted at the God complex. But I have to say Nigerians are a particularly docile kind of people, afraid to ask questions about their health they take drugs without insisting on knowing what they are on and when things do go wrong they never complain. Instead they leave it to God, leaving the Doc to make the same or even worse mistakes the next time. Please even if I am the Doc involved; if you believe there is malpractice write to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. I cannot remenber the address off head but it is at the beginning of broad street, somewhere to the right of akpongbon bridge if you are comming from the main land.If you are uncomfortable with the Doctors attitude ask for a second opinion or leave. Any doctor afraid of a second opinion has something to hide. The Drs abroad sometimes do better not because of who they are but because they are afraid to be reported or have a malpractice suit slapped on them.
