How reliable are the suppliers? You know, this is Nigeria. Suppliers don't always supply on time,

Flegz.com relly not on one supplier, but an array of them for any particular category. And alot of the work is not done by the suppliers. The only way flegz.com can give the kind of guaranty it is giving now is because it is deep in every aspect of the operations ensuring excellence.

Flegz.com is a product owned by Flegz Integrated Services Limited Nigeria. Has an array of share holders. Poineers are Onogberie Prosper and Andy Onyung. The idea to start such a service was born way back in 2005 when were students at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-ife. We had to travel for hours to lagos to get computer hardware at Ikeja computer village. The problem associated with those trips gave rise to the need to know before hand the availability of what you wanted. Then flegz.com was born. to list goods from lagos so that students would have a place to find information before setting out on a trip. But we've since expanded into a full blown shopping service with more investors. We've worked over the years in our little garage fine-tunning and redesigning the entire workflow and security to come up with something tailored to our Nigerian environment. Right now our prices are at least 20% cheaper than what you'll find in regular shops in Lagos. We'll continue to make it easier, and as much as possible make things cheaper. Nigerians deserve the best and we hope to be one of the companies that lead the way with consistent excellence in service and product delivery. We hope our customers' lives get's easier as a result of our service. More about the company can be found at http://www.flegz.com/aboutus/co.php

Your fears are very understandable Cabali, There has been a lot of bad publicity for Nigeria in the online business. And that's due to some bad eggs in our society.
But that is what we collectively have to change. It will not be easy.
But gradually we'll all do our little bit to errode this notion and build safer systems online and offline. Hopefully, someday, ours will be the envy of the world and we'll look back and say we came out of it.
But we have to get our hands dirty and get the work done. One site at a time. We'll find the loopholes and plug them. We'll build our name again.
Flegz.com is a product of Flegz Integrated Services Limited; a company duely registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
You can look it up with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
You can call up Guaranty Trust Bank e-business unit, and you can call Interswitch Nigeria limited.
I urge you to try us and when you see the excellence in service, Tell others about us.
As for the emptyness you expressed, don't worry we just launched and if you look properly you'll see that Items are continually beign loaded by the minute so please feel free to look us up again. hopefully we'll have the titles or Items that will Interest you.
Hope to see you online.

@prosper, I've just been to your site. I'm quite impressed I must say. Only problem is that you seem to have only books for sale. Your DVD section is empty and so is your computer section. You need to grow your stock more than what you have currently if indeed you want to be the best nigerian shopping site. Also, your limiting yourself to delivery within lagos alone doesn't help you at all in achieving your goals except you only want to be 'the best lagos shopping site'.

@George_D, Thanks George.
- We have soo much books that It's going to take us some time to load it all. We currently have staff dedicated to those. - We will add other categories within the week. - We are trying to perfect the running of lagos first before moving to other cities within the country.
We don't just want to launch and say we can deliver to every city. We want to build solid service within the first city, then replicate it in the rest of the country. We do want to be the best in Nigeria and not by our word, but by the words of our customers.
Swift is good. but we intend to be the best and most trust worthy.
We'll get to warri before you know it I promise you and if I had your contacts i'd send you a personal notic when we do. But if you sign up on flegz.com you'll get notifications as we will be periodically sending out to our customers.

Hi Prosper,
Thanks for the information. I'll check-out the website in just a minute. One question though-- Does Flegz stock foreign literary books and novels? For example if I wanted a novel authored by John Grisham, Stephen King or Jackie Collins, would I get these at Flegz?
Thanks!!!

Hey Prosper,
You may wanna include a tab for 'Home' that will send people back to your homepage from other subpages. I had trouble trying to navigate back to home. Finally, I tried clicking on the Flegz logo an that worked. However, some impatient browsers will just close the window entirely.
Another question: Does your company accept book consignments from Western countries, i.e. US, UK, Canada, France, etc?

@Joan We do not have those for certain right now, But we are in negotiations with a major supplier for that category. It's a major category for us so with time they will be listed. We just need to negotiate the prices to the barest minimum. We'll have those and more, you can be sure of that.
We have updated the logo to reflect home that should temporarily help with the issue you just raised till be sorth out a permanent one.(This will be effective shortly )
Thanks alot Joan.
Cheers.

Typical Nigerian Bad Belle. Big Nigerian companies (Like Aero Contractors) have deployed Interswitch on their websites for bill collection and it is proving to be very effective, so please keep your phony concerns to yourself. @prosper This is a good initiative and it should be applauded. A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. However, the greatest hurdle before you guys will be to win the trust of the Nigerian public. I wish you guys well.

@bluediva No problem. Just make sure you tell others of the service. When you get your shipment delivered. We have security to the extent that the from the time you log on, you transaction with the site is protected. So the issue of any fraudulent person stealing your card data is minimised.
We send out alert regularly to buyers on how best to be safe. Hopefully we'll get our buyer smart to the ways of possible fraudsters.
Soon the trust issue will be eased up.
We are stocking, we are.

@prosper, Good concept, however; the only thing I'd suggest is to consider changing your logo colors cause it looks very much like Google's. Also, the three rings (red, gold, and green) on the logo looks like the one on Microsoft's Office suite logo.
The last thing una want is either one of these two giants (or both) slapping you guys with a trademark law suit (though it's unlikely that'll happen but better safe than sorry). And just like a poster mentioned, the biggest hurdle you guys will have to overcome is winning the Nigerian consumers' trust, which is possible but might require a lot of hard-work and time.
Just my $0.02. Good luck to you all! Peace!

@prosper, You could still do long distance tansactions by hooking up with reliable transporters who could help deliver your goods to your customers outside lagos.

@George_D We are looking into options. We prefer using registered professionals with the proper insurance policies to ensure our customer get nothing but the best. Thanks for the suggestions. Like I said earlier, we have not gone out to other cities because we want to solve the teething problems first in one city.
These things have been operational in the US but our environment pose different and tougher challenges.
Please bear with us.
