Lagos is nigerias commercial capital.its just like asking why abuja has a large political market.if you notice after alaba ,lagos you'ld get iweka, onitsha and pound road, aba.not because they are 2nd and 3rd most populated but rather because they come directly behind lagos as important distribution centers.

Oh my sweet lagos is the economic nerve of the largest black nation in the world.
Lagos is indeed the nations centre of Excellence, it is a place where dreams are realised, it is a city of intellectuals and the enlightened mind. It is the largest city in Nigeria and the 2nd largest (population) after cairo in Africa. Conquer lagos and you have conquered half of Nigeria.
Lagos is to Nigeria what New york is to the US , maybe that sums up the explanation.

Enugu,PH or whereever cannot match Lagos for all its opportunities (economic).There's supposed to be something like 12 million people in Lagos.Then you've had the cool fms,rythm93.7fms,raypowers etc all in the game long before these other towns (not cities) thought of having private radio capable of boosting sales through heavy rotation on airplay. I don't think Lagos is looking over its shoulder.Lag keeps setting the standards,raising the bars,and these hamlets towns cities are struggling to keep up. |

@Eastbay, well noted man, i agree Lagos is still da shit when it comes to music in Naija, but conquering Lagos music wise doesnt mean u've conquered the whole of Naija, i will give u an example, i shuttle regularly between Lagos and the East so i know wats happening, Apart from Tuface, D'banj,P square, 9ice, Faze, Ruggedman, who are A-list musicians,the other Lagos based musicians are not recognised in the East, people like Lord of Ajasa, A.Y.Com, Sheyman,Da GRIN,even Terry G doesnt hav a strong fan base in the East.Guys in the East feel Enugu based musicians like Slow DOGG, Desperate Chicks,FLAVOUR, etc, more than any upcoming Lagos artiste.So u see my point,
