My last response was to let any readers know that Port Harcourt was originally an Igbo town and and an Igbo name .
It is entrenched in history.

Quote
If the things people are saying in this thread against ibo people are making you angry, you should direct you anger that way, not at me

not at all.
people usually don't show contempt on people they presume to be inferior to them, they usually hate on people they think superior.
Any haters of Igbos like your okrika people you mentioned have a complex,an inferiority complex, that's why they jumped on our properties after the war, seized them and declared them abandoned properties sharing them amongst themselves.
But God in heaven is all sovereign, today majority of the real estate in PH are owned again by Igbos.
And some say there is no God?

biko hapu umu ofia niile ahu!!! o wu osukosu gbuchaga ha niile! Tongue

Translated for everyone else:
leave the bush people alone it is anger that is worrying them.

Not sure if these remark was implying towards me but either way it doesnt matter. As a fellow Nairaland user had mentioned in an earliar post ", this topic is asking what people here think about igbos, and we are just ALL here expressing our different views.  Of course some views wont be pleasant, that is because everyone is coming from a different mindset and background.  I read every post on this message board and I was like Damn there were alot of hurtfull things thrown around amist some very few nice comment, but Im sure if the person that started this thread has said "what do the rest of nigerians think about the , ?"  Whatever group he put there would also get there share of comments, that is just the way we are as a ppl (nigerians)

As for me, i don tire o this back and forth, naija na naija, no matter yoruba, ibibio, bole, ibo, fulani.(and the many more wey dey) I would be more willing to smile and talk with a naija than acata or oyinbo ANYTIME just because they are my fellow naija.

@omoge25
i'm impressed. you actually are holding things down in a mature manner.

Look, i'm from Edo State, and i'm Etsako. It really doesn't scratch me one bit if anyone starts dissing my tribe. However, it really seems like many Igbos tend to get a mite too sensitive whenever discussions like this crop up.

yeah.
We invented the word babalawo and started Cele and cherubim and seraphin.
But jokes aside for rituals, visit Bini.
I spent a few months there and saw rituals in broad daylight.
After I saw a father and son in my neighborhood at midnight stark naked, carrying something on their heads with their "weapons of mass destraction" in full view.I knew it was time to hop on the next Ekene dili Chukwu to make it home.

Considering the fact that you only saw two people, isn't it unfair to insinuate that the Binis are the major ritualists in Naija? Coming on the back of a spirited defence of your own tribe, this just doesn't seem right. . . .  Grin

"What Do the Rest of Nigerians Think About the Ibos"
im too sure, Stupid Wuga.

The fact that u r bringing payroll and money into the issue, shows
the typical behavior of the Igbo.
'thinking everything is about money' Shocked

Your rantings prove beyond doubt that U r insecure and unintelligent.

I suggest u take your money and instead of worrying about putting my family on a payroll
Use it for surgery to remove that Igboness in your DNA cos its affecting your thinking pattern and will surely kill y'all.

no no no.The naked men was the height of it all.
I cannot tell you how many chickens I saw slaughtered and sacrificed under trees in broad daylight or how many eggs and pennies at crossroads.
I grew up in Igboland and never saw juju until I came to Benin,Ekosodin to be precise.
It was a scary sight.

They say na juju make Bini city so backward in appearance and I believe so.
We were warned about dissappearances.
God help you if an oba dies,he needs heads to be buried with.

You too don begin call me mamaosisi??
Nollywood is a movie industry,is that where all this is from?

Virtually all Naija movies and sitcoms and older dramas from any Naija setting had ritualistic scenes,it makes for good story telling and good drama.
Igbos seem to have control of nollywood so it seems as though it portrays Igbo life,it doesn't.
Of course there are people who patronise native doctors in Igboland but it is not perculiar to us,there are voodoo worshippers here in America.
Would you watch American movies and come off thinking the average American street is a war zone?
Movies are movies, they are an exageration of reality

and to be honest it's only when I registered on this site last year that I noticed this pathetic childishness aka tibal wars and i think the Hausas are probably hated more.

Good thing I was raised to be proud to be Nigerian, not just Yoruba or Ekiti. Guess not everyone is raised by the right family.  Cheesy

The igbos I know in person are smart. The ones I've met here in the states go to school (i.e. College) and are always trying to make it big/ better themselves.

The igbos on Nairaland are very tribalistic (not all). All the igbos I knew going to school in Lagos and that I've met here in the states have not been tribalistic at all. I am amazed atimes when I read postings by many igbos on Nairaland. It is as if they are not the same people I knew and went to school with in Lagos and here in the states.
