The igbos on Nairaland are very tribalistic (not all). All the igbos I knew going to school in Lagos and that I've met here in the states have not been tribalistic at all. I am amazed atimes when I read postings by many igbos on Nairaland. It is as if they are not the same people I knew and went to school with in Lagos and here in the states.

I agree. It's almost creepy that I keep asking myself  "do the ones I know seriously think like this" whenever I read the crap written by some on this board.

ninetofive,you're right.
You remember the Igboid guy that told us his father hates all Igbos, even the ones he had never met.
You don't waste unnecessary hatred and jealousy on your equal but on those you fear you can't compete with.

Anyone that hates Igbos need help.

TOH,it's not called tribalistic,it's called self preservation.

Not sure i wanna be friends with one who's cool with me then behind my back goes off calling us "juju freaks" or whatever. One has no choice to believe that is what happens with the way some of you behave on here

Only time I warrent such over-defensiveness is during retarded threads like this. I dont even understand what the hell the OP was trying to prove by making this thread in the first place. If anything I think it's the Edos, urhobos and co that might have a problem with you guys

In what way?
If you mentioned edo or urhobo in my village, they would think it's an object or food item from somewhere so why would they have a problem with people that don't even know of their existence?

No one can say nonsense about anyone and expect not to get a response.
Why should the Igbos be the punching bag?
Is it a crime to be hard working?

It is he that pursues the chicken, that has the fall.
Even your own people TOH call Igbos those that eat stone without drinking water, what a hateful description!
and you talk of tribalism?

A tribalistic people would not be in all nook and corner of Nigeria.
They have demonstarted an ability not to be limited to their sorrounding.

As opposed to "ngabti ngbati people with the oily soup"?

You are not serious, osisi and I dare you to find me a thread or post where I go around uplifting Yorubas as being better than anyone else/the "best" tribe as opposed to you, Donzie and a few others.

I've heard that eating stone without water comment in my secondary school days and it seemed people took it as a compliment to mean someone who is very strong and can withstand anything, that's my take on that phrase, I could be wrong. what do you think it means?

Like I said, if this thread would cause you guys to say whatever and be defensive I wouldnt say anything as this is indeed a pretty mean thread, well most of what was said has been pretty mean anyway but when you go around bashing other tribes for no reason in other threads that's when I say something like that ogechi trollop that you have been defending.

Was I not just yelling at Amennsah, after all the garbage she's been spewing has been against the Igbos or was it not? I still commented on it either way, had it been the Yorubas she said all that nonsense about, you more than likely would have laughed.
Despite the fact that the girl is an idiot, she has a point in her other thread, we yell at other Africans on this site for saying rubbish about Nigerian but can a person really blame them from what they read on how we treat each other? Seriously?

she's one of "your girls" as you claimed thus you should have her straight

Should have spoken to her instead of yelling at those who are commenting on her rubbish. The people responding to her rubbish were just as offended as you are by this thread.

@ThiefofHearts

I've never gone to any thread saying Igbos are better than anyone. I only jump in to defend Igbos whenever some nutcase feels they can deride Igbos and get away with it. When you defend yourself from real tribalists, you are labelled tribalistic, how cool!

I suppose you want me to sit and watch folks like Kabiyesi who tell Igbos to go back to the East for whatever reason. You don't see me going from thread to thread dissing Yoruba or Hausa people!
