Most Nigerians are cowards and submissive when it comes to stannding up for their rights. This is why I give props to the Niger Delta activists.

Where were all these Edo people when Lucky was looting and making Edo the basket case that it has become? They did not protest on the streets to stop the corruption. Lucky is flaunting his wealth in Benin and the sycophants are there kissing up to him. All he had to do was pay his #3 million Naira fine after stealing billions of Naira from the people of Edo state.

People have every right to question their elected officals. It took almost ten years of mismanagent between Lucky and Osunbor to destroy Edo state. The expectations of Oshiomole have to be realistic. His budget was only approved last month after being held up by the majority PDP in the state assembly. The Oba of Benin had to appeal before the budget was adopted.

Indiscriminate awards of contract without proper planning or oversight will yield the same misery of the past.

The present condition of Edo state has everything to do with Lucky. Lagos state was not as backward as Edo when Fashola took over. The internal resources are not comparable. I lived in Midwest state from 1970 to 1980 and I still have business and family interests in Benin.

It is not cowardice of the past but rather it is still present today. Do you think the common man is currently protesting against Oshiomole today. Most of the attacks are from political opponents fighting for the spoils of power. The doctors are upset because he raised the license fees for private hospitals to a reasonable level.

I believe Adams Ohsiomole is a rogue just like every other politician. He used "Labor" to get cheap popularity when he had a politiical ambition the whole time.

True; I know his detractors are laughing so loud now because it's very easy to be an arm chair critic but when the mantle is handed to you, you will now see what those guys up there are seeing. That is why men critics like Gani stayed away from governance. Another person that will disgrace himself if care is not taken is Femi Falana because he's been running around restless trying to run affairs in Ekiti state come 2011.

I understand what you mean by giving him a chance to prove himself. The only issue i have with this is that Nigeria is at a point where we don't need a candidate that needs "on the job training". We need performance from day one. We don't have to see the effects immediately but we shoud "know" what they are.

The state house of assembly did not change over night. They have been the same way since Nigeria was born.

God will help us in this state. Adams has to be very carefull. God is on his side.  but very frankly this state is truely very poor in terms of revenue generation. to be like lagos alot needs to be invested into the state economy. all well to do edo state people sud see the present administration as credible so they sud contribute their quota towards the development of the state. if u are wealthy just come arround or send a good some of money to the state govt to do so and so road in the state instead of keeping it oversea. the govt alone can't take care of all our developmental challenges.

he hasn't even used 1 year, yet, they want to kill him,  has anyone of you here been to benin? i have people in Benin who said things are changing, though not fast, but changing, you don't expect things to change 100% fast like the one in lagos where most of the house of assemply are from AC. edo state house of rep has alot of pdp members more than AC and they just want to kill off all the zeal he has to change the state.


by the way, you guys only talk about edo state, is that the only state in Nigeria that needs to be spoken about???
