Hello my people, i read all about what u had said about Arabic words and Letters on Naira Notes. Lets me starts this way that Arabic words u are seeing on the Naira notes is not a sign of whether u're Muslim, number 1, secondly the northerners was well organised before coming of the colonial masters, they have there ways of governance. 1st point, the Hausas was using that pattern of writing with that same of the Arabic text before the colonial came to Naija, when they came and met the Hausas their own ways 4 them to avoid problems they aloud them with their system in to government, because in the history of Africa, i mean the whole of Africa Sir Abubakar Tabawa Balewa was called with a title by the white people "The golden voice of Africa" if all of u could remember this, whats the big deal about Arabic letters in Nig. notes, the other English words in Nig. notes it's your FATHER'S words. lets be sincere to our selfs, the person ahead of u is always ahead of u. SHEGU DAYAN AKUYOYI.

@Nass,
Aside from your poor command of english grammar; your ignorance of history is quite obvious from your story, and it's probably because you did not ask any question when you were told this concorted lies. In fact, your post brings olny one picture to mind: Half-illitrate and Half-literate. (no offence Wink )
So the "Hausa's have their ways of governance" before the colonial masters came, what about the Ibo and the Yorubas? Are you saying they do not have their own Obaship, Kingdoms, Domains, Obi etc with lesser kigdoms paying homage and taxes to bigger kingdoms?

What "problems where the colonial masters trying to avoid"? No! they "were not trying to avoid any problem"; but creating problems by delibrately tilting the power in favour of the relatively politically docile north, as against the more educationally and politically active southerners who were more likely to challenge them. Go down the history of the fight for independence of Nigeria, you will see that it was championed by the southerners; peoples like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ukpabi Asika, Anthony Enahoro, Obafemi Awolowo, etc. In fact, history records it that indepence would have been achieved in the fifties but northern elites told the british government that "Nigeria is not ready for independence". Now you know why the British will rather favour the north politically as colonial masters in order to consolidate it's hold on the juicy Nigerian resources.

Divide and Rule is the name of the Machiavellian game that the British Empires uses very well to consolidate their hold in all their colonial enclaves all over the world: and it is still the source of the problem in Nigeria, as in most places today. But now, we need to move on; a good way to move on and champion our destiny is getting a good understanding of our past history.
The restiveness in the Niger Delta and the millitants are products of the bigger picture of pre-independece power games manifesting, for example, as "Arabic inscription on Naira notes" among others. Let's say it as it is. But as I said, let's move on by knowing past history.

To me,this is a needless and baseless post, that is obviously not suppose to have received any response.By applying common sense both arabic and english are ways of communication,so its a way of telling whoever that can read and understand those languages the worth of the currency.

Either way it's been removed. Personally, I feel it had no business being there in the first place but, that's now irrelevant. It's been removed. It should not be put back. Plain and simple. Let the issue die.
