Computing In Todays Automobiles (help)

Today , integrated electronic systems and complex computers run vehicles’ and measure their performance on roads”. Can anyone please help out on the aspect of electronics and computing know how needed to meet up today’s auto technology.

Anyone got an idea of a good site on auto mechanics/automobiles (free tutorials, email subscriptions e.t.c.).Thanks

This sounds like school work. Your teacher or lecturer should have given you some useful links to conduct this research out of the class room. Do google search to reveal some useful academic research.

The ones I can think of in terms of computer and automobile are:

1. Automatic Gearbox
2. Remote alarm sensors
3. Electric seat heaters
4. Instruction panel on the dashboard (Fuel level, Engine oil level, breakpad level etc.)
5. Satellite Nav
6. Automatic break systems
7. Theft homing device

As you can see computer has and is still helping automobile industry to automate most of the manual activities in today's modern car.

thanks sbucareer.but thats not at all sch wk.studying materials sc. in school bt will like to delve into auto mechanics.am kind of like sourcin 4 info on how to adapt despite a bsc. in materials sc. would nt mind if u can help.so thats the gist.
