This sounds like school work. Your teacher or lecturer should have given you some useful links to conduct this research out of the class room. Do google search to reveal some useful academic research.
The ones I can think of in terms of computer and automobile are:
1. Automatic Gearbox 2. Remote alarm sensors 3. Electric seat heaters 4. Instruction panel on the dashboard (Fuel level, Engine oil level, breakpad level etc.) 5. Satellite Nav 6. Automatic break systems 7. Theft homing device
As you can see computer has and is still helping automobile industry to automate most of the manual activities in today's modern car.
