You need to get back to Nigeria and get to NYSC Abuja. They are the only ones who can help you out.

Like Ejadamen said, you need to get to Abuja. That is where the office for NYSC Foreign Graduates is.
Just to let you know, make sure you have all your transcripts from all your uni years and your o'level/SSCE transcripts as well as your international passport (all original) i think the next batch is in August and you can prob apply up until The first maybe second week of July.

A little search on google would have landed you on www.nysc.gov.ngEVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THERE. The timeline for accepting foreign student credentials and all that is always updated on there. When/if you eventually go to Abuja, make sure you speak pidgin to the guys there. They already have enough bad belle for you. You don't want to experience what happened to some peeps.

www.nysc.gov.ng is the link that will guide you properly. Nevertheless, 2009 Batch B orientation course starts by 14th of july till 4th of August. If You wish to join batch B, You must be in Nigeria and register as Nigerian foreign trained graduate before 16th of July. There is anticipation for subsequent batch by November as it was last year. However, 2010 batch A by Febraury/Match is obvious.

@Poster. I suggest you could also check on the internet for some useful and vital information as per NYSC Board in Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos State respectively) and make some calls where necessary for better enquiries.
Hope this will do.

FYI, the next one starts July14 to August 4. The next one (Batch C) will be sometime November, then March next year. As a foreign student, it is almost assured you will be posted to either Lagos or Abuja. You need COMPLETE ORIGINAL documents and transcripts. check www.nysc.gov.ng for other details.

@ Andy, would you be able to confirm the info I inquired about above (if they want to keep your certificates or if they only expect to see them)?

@concrete. They just want to check the original copies. After that they will ask you to give them the photocopies of the original copies. But mind you foreign student no longer have special priorities according to the boss at the office. The computer can post us any where. All foreign students including me who put down Abuja as their first choice got cancelled.

yeah, they need to see the originals and of course the are gonna keep the photocopies, about the "non-special treatment" to foreign students, well, tough luck, seems the rebranding effort got there sef!

so what happens if one doesnt have a Nigerian passport but wants to work in Nigeria, therefore, have to serve. What is required of the person. Also the person did all her schooling abroad so am guessing the person has to bring the high school diploma to them,

If you do not have a Nigerian passport (I.e. you are 'legally' not Nigerian) I don't think u have to serve. But I am not sure what the full situation is, so I might be wrong.
