Must everything traditional be glossed with negative remarks? Since body parts are sold at the Lagos market for the "traditional" ceremonies, the negativity will probably remain.

Nigerians seem to be very receptive of "foreign" religions. Islam,Christianity,Budhism,Hinduism, name them; are all borrowed religions. Why can't we practise something that was originally handed down to us by our ancestors?
Religion will not take us to Heaven; our virtuous will.Lets try and be good and shun 'borrowed' religions. Afterall, these foreign religions are only introduced to suit followers located in a particular geographical entity (Arabia, Middle-east,India,China,etc).

Last I checked not all traditional worship fall under ONE uniform. In case you are unaware there are various tribes in the country and how is it any better than so called churches/mosques committing fraud and having people lose so much money in the name of "miracles"

The fact that our fore fathers practised something doesnt make it right i guess. Our fore fathers practised a whole range of things and sacrificed humans, virgin girls slaves and a range of traditional things. Do that today and you will rot in jail. Time has moved on and there is nothing foreign in religion. Chrisitianity isnt a thing of the west as the first followers of christ were jews and in the middle east. why do we accept science and practicse science i guess that is foreign to africa as well, why do we use hospitals, live in modern houses and not huts etc .

hospitals are still pretty much foreign in Naija
and while there are the negatives to traditional "religion", they were quite a number of positives that many of us use today despite being in immense denial

That statistics is wrong by the way. The south is more populated than the north in real figures There are more Christians in the south Many northern states like Kogi,Benue,Kaduna,Plateau former gongola have a sizeable Christian population There are more Christians than Muslims in Nigeria Don't mind the falsified figures by the "owners of Nigeria" remember that Kano is supposedly more populated than Lagos state We know the truth.

Nigerian population is 50% Muslim, 40% Christian, whats the other 10%? Atheist? Agnostic? What? If you are not Muslim, Christian, Athiest, or Agnostic, what is your religion?
- Geography shows its impossible for the north to be more populated than the south.
- Logic of people running away from desertification, shows it not logical for the north to be more popular than the south or Middle Belt (Onitsha, Aba, Ibadan, Port-Harcourt, Lagos, Ife, Abeokuta, Jos, Lokoja, etc),
- Satellite Imagery shows that the north is sparsely populated and contains a lot of dry areas not suitable for human habitation, hence where does it large population come from.
- Economic wealth of the south indicates that most people would be concentrated in places like the South (Onitsha, Aba, Ibadan, Port-Harcourt, Lagos, etc).
All these raised points above dictate that the South is simply has to be more populated than the north from all accounts. - The middle belt is taking to be part of the north, yet the middle belt is split between muslims and christians. - The core north is not monolithic, instead it only has a majority muslim population there are still Christians. Otherwise you would not be hearing reports of muslims killing Christians in the north for no reason other than they are Christians. In conclusion, Nigeria does not have 50% Muslim, Nigeria does not have 40% Christian Nigeria does not have 10% AtheistNigeria has never had an accurate census figure - British intentionally/falsely made the north more populous on paper but not in physical reality. The North has been manipulatiing census since then onwards. Hence all these percentage figures being quoted are completely false and baseless. No one knows what the true figures are. People can only infer what the population of an area and group of people might be in terms of political, geographic, economical, religious, socio-cultural and satellite imagery factors, i.e. the falsification of census figures over the years in favour of the north and muslims, means that true census figures can only be estimated based on inference from factors stated earlier. Thus by inference using the points raised earlier, its clear that logic and common sense implies that Nigeria is actually a majority christian country , despite that Census figures have always been manipulated and doctored to favour the north and indirectly favour muslims in general. Christians are not violent by nature, hence the reason you have not seen christians publicly claim a right or priviledge based on the fact that they are more populous in the country. Unfortunately muslims tend to be more susceptible to violence and domineering by nature hence the need for them to falsely claim majority population just to try and seek to gradually try to claim that Nigeria is an islamic country, which it is not. Instead Nigeria is actually a majority Christian Country. Christians never claim Nigeria is a christian country despite that we are a majority, because such trivialities do not really matter and christianity is not about domination of non-christians even though the same cannot be said of muslims and their attitude. Muslims and the North in general were scared of getting this truth exposed during the last census, hence the reason why they made sure that issues like Religion and Ethnic were not included in the information that would be made public via the census.
So with respect to the can u @poster , based on the above raised points, you would well to make sure that you get your facts correct before you post any nonsense.

Without missing words, Christians account for over 65% of Nigeria population.
Majority of Northern muslims are very much aware of this.
This, as a matter of fact is one of the reasons for their frustration and bitterness which is often demonstrated in clashes with Christian communities in the north.
They know that southern Nigeria is completely dominated and feels uncomfortable with the way they are constantly loosing it even in the north.

. OK you think that the over 90 percent of Nigerians that are either Christians or Muslims have any sense? Does believing in foreign and imported man made mythologies of ancient Jews, Arabs and Romans make a person sensible?

But believing the ordered course of nature as wee see it today is by a random, accidental or unknown entity/cause. . . .is perhaps very very gullible and silly.
