Is Flame A Matter In Scientific Definition

I had known from elementary basic science that matter is anything that has mass and occupies space. is FLAME a matter and if yes give reasons based on the definition above i.e how does it occupy space or possess mass?

a flame consists of both energy and matter
energy in the form of light and heat
matter in the form of hot gases which are the result of the combustion/oxidation process.
The combination of light, heat and the hot gasses result in the flame.
