how many seasons did henry play in Juve before joining Arsenal.
but we all know that as soon as he joined the gunners, his story changed.

Are you now comparing him to martins who played more than 4 seasons with Inter.
yet he coundn't make any impact.
now he's in England, what makes you think he will make a difference.

Let's face the facts.
Obafemi Martins isn't that good and we all know that.
Henry hit it as soon as he came to Arsenal? Huh

dumb pots.
Cheesy

Its too early to pass Judgment on Martins, at least being a Man U fan Saha's raw power matches his.Difference is Saha has very good movement, his dribbling is above average_which cannot be said for Oba.

My major concern is that Martins Just runs after the ball and Gbosa takes a shot. Perhaps due to Newcastle's police football.

I think if he had Duff coming in from the wing with crosses and a few guys around to put the ball on ground( Kanu would have been Good or say robo cop) he stands a better chance of Leaving his mark

wetin u na dey yarn sef. Martins not good enough. For where abeg make una leave the boy jare. Abi na im go go collect ball from behind go score.

Yes martins may not be the most natural goal scorer in the world, actually i think he is no were near a natural goal scorer but one tin is for sure he is a hard working, power house of a goal scorer. And come to think of it who is in the newcastle team to provide him the passes to score wit.

Martins in my own view has worked so hard for newcastle and deserve commendation but wit out a good support he can only do little in goal scorering. Put Martins and ronaldinho in the same team and c what he would do.

i think martins is still trying to settle down at newcastle, he was bought just some days before transfer deadline and already played in their 2nd or 3rd game. He has barely had a chance to train with them properly and Roeder is not the best coach in theworld he seems to be concentrating the play around parker in midfield like parker will score all the goals.

At the same time Obafemi can create space for himself instead of just running everywhere.

Newcastle have been buying some dud strikers still, splashing money on owen, luque, Martins thats over 30m hmm desperate

he had better start performing

because they are now sitting 19th at the bottom of the league

How can you ever say he has failed. How long has he played in England.
Obafemi has just arrived England and he has already scored 4 goals and you think that is bad? If you want to know that the English league is not an easy league, ask Reyes, Morientes and Shevshenko. How many goals has shevy scored since he arrived England? Yet no one thinks he is the worst striker in England.
Newcastle is just a lowlife team that is putting too much preasure on a young player and expecting him to become Alan Shearer over night? It's not possible.
Nigerians make una stop to dey spoil una own thing.Una Hear?

@brushparke

how long did it take RVN to make an impression in the premiership, bear in mind that he came from injury to become deadly,

so reyes and morientes and others mentioned have no excuse, if u r a good striker in italy you should be ready to prove yourself in anycountry you ply your trade,

a perfect example is Ruud Van Nistelrooy, PSV, Manutd and Real Madrid, thats Holland, England and Spain, and the guy is still SCORING, so wats your point,

am no manu fan, but one has to acknowledge what is good, RVN was a good striker and is still a good striker his predatory instincts is compared to none, for those you who think i desire the praise of others for this statement, shame on you,

Quite preemptive. But can RVN's pedigree ever be in doubt?

Ppl quit all this talk bout Oba and his form abeg.

Most of u cats neva saw him play at Inter at all dats y u are all quick to judge.

Oba will come good when he settles into dat rubbish league. Most players dat come from Italy have problems adapting cuz there's nothing tactical bout the EPL.Just boring long balls.lol.

Crespo, Mutu, Veron to name a few all re-discovered their best when they returned to Italy didn't they.

Now Mutu and Crespo are leading scorers. And i must repeat again that New castle is far inferior to Inter. No creativity at all.How do u want him to score when he gets no service.the goal he even scored in the Prem was all his work cuz he stole the ball.

Roeder should prolly partner him with Rossi cuz Ameobi is just garbage.

@ Lordimpaq,

Obafemi Martins will come good.
The fact is when a quality striker plays amongst garbages then he becomes trash.
U cannot doubt Martins' predatory instincts as well but he has no one to supply the inch-perfect passes.
Martins is shot and Newcastle players play high balls for him to strike.

RVN?
He has no rival as far as goal-scoring is concerned.
He scored on his debut for Man Utd and u can never doubt his pedigree according to analyst Kit.
Too bad he had to leave the premiership, too bad!!!!!!!!

it's not about newcastleunited. obafemi is a lazy striker, he only waits for awoof balls to score, he never fights for a ball. he's so called talent was exposed during the african nation's cup.
he's not a star he's just a lazy thirty something year old trying his to earn a living from his already feeble legs

Whilst i agree with some of the things u've said, let me state categorically that he is between 24-26 yrs as even his elder brother Ladi is 27 yrs, they are not 30 yr-olds and definitely he is not 22 as claimed by the ever-erratic NFA
