1. Use special vagina soap (try to avoid liquidised soap)
2. Shave down there
3. While washing, gently rub the vagina with your index, middle and ring finger with water. Use cup or wash cloth to run water on your vagina.
4. Don't rub your vagina, it can lead to irritation
5. Avoid getting soap into your vagina
6. When you use the restroom, try to clean yourself very well.
7. EAT YOGURT. Try Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt, only 66 calories
8. Bath twice a day

Ladies.
Bathe with clean, warm water EVERYDAY!!!
Try to avoid using soap as this can cause irritation. The vagina is self cleansing so all the feminine washes are not necessary.
Do not use perfumes or body spray or scented things there. When menstruating try and avoid all the pads and tampons with scents in them.
Change your underwear. Nigeria is hot and some women tend to sweat down there, don't wear that underwear all day it can lead to various things like yeast infections.
When going to sleep try sleeping without your underwear to allow your vagina to breathe.
Try using pantiliners as they absorb moisture away from the vagina, but change them constantly if you're in a hot area and sweat.
Avoid lycra or silk panties. Use cotton instead. Avoid thongs or g-strings they provide a direct map/highway for bacteria to enter the vagina.
Don't wear tight pants.
Eat lots of yogurt it contains bacteria that keeps the vagina healthy and it promotes a healthy digestive system too.
Also drink cranberry juice, it is most especially good for the ovaries just thought I'd throw that in there.

how about taking antibiotics once in a while?
Absolutely not! You'll not only end up rendering yourself resistant to antibiotics when you really do have an infection, you'll also change the normal flora of your vagina and the fungal organisms will grow and multiply 1.e yeast infection with the associated itching, burning, discharge plus the place will be smelling like mackerel left out in the hot sun for 3 days.

1. wash with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly
2. sprinkle some talc-free feminine powder on your cotton panties,e.g. summers eve. it absorbs moisture and odor
3. Never douche (unless recommended by a doctor),you'll only be inviting yeast infections
4.always go and pee pee after any sexual intercourse
5.Never use medicated soap on your vagina
6.No talcum powder please, can cause emboli.
7.avoid bubble baths
more later

as a decent and a well matured lady, you need to take your birth at least twice daily or more so as to reduce body odour. and also you need to use female anticeptic birth soaps and lots more further more you need to be using viginal cleanser e.g microhib vigina cleanser

femfresh intimate wash is the popular choice. You really shouldn't be using normal soap down there. Medical experts say simply washing with water is ok. But we as African ladies, we make d extra effort. So find the well-known intimate, non-perfumed wash meant for your down-under.

I was going to make a smart ass comment but realized it was a serious thread. LOL @ the person that sits in dettol. Are you serious? That is just a yeast infection waiting to happen. Isn't dettol an anti bacterial solution. Anything that changes the natural floral of the vagina will cause a yeast infection.

all the washing and scrubbing (though super important like all the fine ladies here have stated) will be nothing if you dont watch your diet, by this i mean eating properly and eating the right healthy foods. the food you eat has a big influence on how you smell down there. also knowing your body better helps a lot. every/most lady has some sort of discharge knowing the changing in the discharge, color, smell etc helps you detect when something is wrong and when to seek help. also i do suggest using baby wipes for after the actions and activities.

I use Fem Fresh rather than normal toilet soap.
And accordin to what is written on the bottle:
"This soap-free wash, enriched with aloe vera and camomile, has been specially formulated to give long lasting freshness whilst gently cleansing intimate skin.
It also helps maintain a health pH-balance.
The low pH of the intimate area helps to protect it against irritation and this can be upset by ordinary soaps.
It has been dermatologically and gynaecologically tested and i suitable for everyday use.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
For external use only.
Keep away from eyes (Like d vagina is anywhere near the eyes!)
