I'm sure Tayo Aderinokun's head will swell if he reads this. See how his bank is widely respected and loved.

In terms of being away from home and to be able to send in small thing often before Uncle Sam and Iya Charlie finish all, is there a bank that has the safeguards to avoid us losing money since we are not on ground to monitor things.

Which has the smoothest on-line banking access?
Charges little or no COT?
Has a branch in US or UK that you can withdraw cash from?

Thanks

Why mention other banks when GTBank is still in Naija.
Poster, please do yourself good by banking with GTBank, you will not regret it.

So far, GTBank is the only bank in Naija that allows Phone in the banking hall.

And no gate, fences like penitentiary.

You no dey hear "Wouldn't rather you bank with us?

Lets think about this, all this banks that we praise for no charges,no minimum balance, giving interest rates high above CBN's directive on fixed deposits,no ATM charges when you use their machines, free cakes etc.How do they make profit?
You would tell me they finance big projects like Sarah Palin's "bridge to nowhere".Have you also asked yourself how do they get access to such funds and at what cost.
They allow us to make calls in their banking halls thats more premium to insurance companies for more exposure to risks etc.how i wish some of these banks would open up to us the kind of costs they unnecessarily incure from such exposures,we will see that all that glitters is certainly not gold.
A better explanation of their financial status is better explained by the remuneration of their staffs.Buildings can deceive because, mortgages can take care of those in that,it helps to amortize the costs over a period of time.
The truth is that anybody who leaves his or her funds idle in a bank is short of business ideas. But if you have any reason to leave your hard earned money in a bank in Nigeria,go for those that charge for their services In most cases they are more on sound financial footing.UBA????not at all.

Going by the utterances of the present central bank governor, I would say that the most reliable bank is First Bank Nigeria, where he was MD. Until further clarification, the rest have either been cooking their books, distressed, or are exposed to sizeable margin loans !

the idea of 'best bank in nigeria' is too ambiguous. a bank can be assessed based on certain criterias ranging from
customer service experience,
Value on services& products (charges/rates),
technological advancement,
international economic participation,
credit policies,
internal control (and book keeping),
social responsibility
staff welfare,
market share,
customer base,
shareholders fund . . . the list goes on  and on.

believe you me, all 24 banks in nigeria have their specs (i cant try that lengthy discourse here).

My advise.
Stay with the bank that is designed (or can redesign) to meet your banking needs.

As for me, Zenith meets my expectations 100%, then maybe Access bank. only i dont like the way they treat their staff

As sly as a Fox, that's what GTbank is.

All you supporters, they only show you the side they want you to see but scratch a little above the surface (like i did) and all you see is a Cowboy bank that will do anything.

@ Oxone, stop deceiving yourself that they have your best interest at heart.

Nethacker,

As a customer of GTbank, used to think they were the best, until:

Consumer Vibe, the registered copyright owners of Studyscholarshipng.com in enforcing its intellectual property rights have through its legal counsel Festus Keyamo Chambers and Nigeria Copyright Commission, notified GTbank PLC and UBA of copyright infringement of studyscholarshipng.com

In a meeting held between officials of GTbank PLC and Nigeria Copyright Commission, Festus Keyamo Chambers and Consumer Vibe on June 11th at the enforcement department of Nigeria Copyright Commission, GTbank PLC have resolved to settle the issue amicably.

The hearing with UBA came up on the 22nd of June

standard chartered bank is crap in its entirety.
as a former customer of theirs, i will never advice anyone to bank there.
but if you are seeking employment and get a space there, grab it with both hands.there is no better bank to work for if you value work/life balance.
no aggressive marketing, close on time and no weekend banking (the last time i asked).

As an entrepreneur, any bank that you cannot comfortably walk into to discuss your project, ideas, or business without fear of hijack, infringement, modification, or theft of your project is a Cowboy bank and as such deserves no commendation.

UBA should be shut down. A bank that employs school cert holders as full time staff. A bank where staffs looks customer in the eyes and lay insult to them if you try to make a minor complain. A bank that is a hoax in atm transaction. UBA is an archive bank and i dont know why stb had to merge with them

GTBank is my prefered bank. But I hate their policy when it comes to recruitment sha. Heard that over 60% of the people you see in their banking halls are contract staff.
